You know it hurt their souls to have to write that letter. Whichever Einstein thought it was a good idea should have his ass escorted out of the building and never be allowed a say in anything involving educating children again. The ethics and conflicts of interest Garland has with his son in law and daughter on this are enormous. His testimony on this, where he refused to allow an ethics review as required, were a complete disaster. There needs to be in IG investigation, and the NSBA may be afraid that will happen and tried to disavow to quell the outrage.

Or maybe they were asked (or told) by the WH to write an apology so the WH could say they weren’t wrong, they were misled by the language in the initial letter (ignoring the fact that they were a participant in drafting it).

I want a statement from that icehole Garland, saying that they are backing off from involving the FBI in local matters best handled by local LE. When questioned, he had NO EVIDENCE of violence or threats, just assertions from that NSBA letter.
