I cannot envision Liberty being willing to join this group. I cannot imagine any FCS call ups being willing to join a conference with no revenue that stretches from El Paso to Miami to Bowling Green, Ky. The money does not work.

...as much as I love to hate LaTech, I wouldn't wish being 'stranded' on ANY program... if anything, it's more fun to them when they are riding high, or at least stable... ...but they burned WAY too many bridges with the Belt, it appears...

NMSU? Six teams with an auto bid would mean a pretty short path to the Dance. Merge with the WAC? I'm reaching. C'mon Mountain West, take the Miners.

Yeah, Liberty folk are correctly saying, "Why join a remnant of a conference?" What kind of media deal would they be able to scrounge up - the junk deal C-USA has now would be the BEST-case scenario for them...

I've read that UTEP is looking to independence, which might be their best bet at this point, since any 'restructuring' of C-USA would be 'eastern-centric', thus placing them so far out they might as well be Hawaii...

...and still seeing some scuttlebutt that WKU and MTSU are in negotiations with the MAC... pretty sure ESPN has some 'oversight' in that situation... the MAC folks (fans, anyway) in general don't want any change, but heck, I think they could bring in a new region, new recruiting grounds, etc. with pretty comparable (if not BETTER) teams...

yep... it IS pretty tough to forget that little fact, right???

ESPN just got inventory for 6 schools it didn’t own, all in top 50 markets, at no additional cost for the next 10 years.

It is about to snag 4 more, also likely at minimal cost, for its FunBelt programming.

It can add more MACtion with two moves, also probably at minimal to no cost.

ESPN is winning.

Will any conference besides the SEC get an actual increase to their contract out this this latest round? Lot of new content with the winners being the same folks that seems to always win nowadays: ES(EC)PN

I think La Tech eventually gets into the Sun Belt. There's $ to be made with a LT-ULL series. That's if the Cajuns are still there.

I hate what CUSA is about to become but I find some type of satisfaction knowing that the Sun Belt is about to deliver the death blow after so many said for years that no CUSA team would ever "drop down" to the Sun Belt. Now the Belt is about to potentially become arguably the best football conference in the G5.

That's s***ts in the past. A proud and accomplished program like LA Tech doesn't deserve to be left out in the cold. They're a victim of piss Poor leadership at the conference and institutional level and bad geography.

Personally I think thats a pretty petty attitude. That **** has nothing to do with the athletes that go out there and compete. It's on a group of dumb*** fans. We came back, we persevered, and we are in a better place than La Tech is now. Theres no reason to wish ill upon them.

I don’t wish them harm, I just don’t feel bad for them like I do UTEP or WKU.

One thing is for sure, the SBC posters are definitely more happy about their additions than AAC posters are about their additions.........lol. Also hearing that ESPN will bump up the TV deal for the SBC to match the payout of what the schools leaving for the AAC will get initially.

No it was their ATHLETIC DIRECTOR who was an insulting arrogant ******* toward the Sun Belt. The fans top it off
