I believe he scored both Huskies goal tonight.

NIU gets the result tonight and improves to 11-1-2 (3-0-2 MAC).

With 11 points, NIU sits atop the MAC table all by their lonesome.

By a read of the final stats of the game and the periodic updates on the statbroadcast:

NIU dominates in Shots on Goal (SOG) and Shots, 24 and 11 respectively vs GS, 3 and 7 respectively. This is significantly higher than NIU's average.

Their goalie averages 3 saves per game and today, he had 9 saves tonight.

By my take, Huskies threw everything at them but could not connect everything together for more goals. Great game!

TopDrawer published its Top 25 college soccer rankings today. Somehow NIU doesn't make the top 25 but WVU is at #10 and Akron is at #20. Nick Markanich is the only NIU player who cracks their College Soccer Top 100 players list at.... #79! Gee, congrats for being the number two leading scorer in the country! I thought TopDrawer was weak but then I just learned that they are the "brains" behind Nationalpickleball.com and The Open Mat (a site dedicated to covering the sport of Amateur Wrestling). So I take my sarcasm back!

When United Soccer Coaches puts out its rankings tomorrow, NIU will likely stay in its spot current spot of #21. Some teams went down this past week but not as many from the prior week. NIU's tie with Georgia Southern may not help but the OT W vs a quality Georgia State team should offset the tie.

Helping the Huskies cause are key losses this past week:
#1 Univ of Washington (v Oregon State)
#6 Clemson (v Syracuse)
#14 Bowl Green (v Akron)
#15 Loyola Marymount (v Portland)
#22 UCLA (v Cal)
