My Brotha Blue, you got this all wrong. We are everyones rival. We rule the new conference. We are the flagship. We get everyones best shot.

Why?

Because we are the bully, we got the best car, the most fans, and the most money. We are gonna take your lunch money, your dog; we'd take your job but we don't really have to work at this. Your momma likes us better and everyone in this new conference knows who the next call up to the show is. Even when we lose; we'll have more fans at our game than the your dumb team. And if you get pissed at us, guess what, we don't care.

Get ready to be the 900 pound gorilla with an attitude in the room. We don't need rivals. We got a conference to hate.

Well, if the conference is going to hate us we better hire a football coach that knows how to - coach.

YOU would have come up with a better game plan for last night. Sadly you know I'm not joking.

YOU would have made better half time adjustments.

BB is finally poised to return and recover from all the damage Opie and Granpa inflicted.

FB needs a real coach right now while there is still something to salvage or itll be an also ran even in the nAAC.

B12 or bust baby!

You must talk to IKE a lot. By the time we get into the big 12 , it will look like The CUSA or AAC bc the other schools will leave for the mega conferences

Who pulled your string? When I need any **** out you I'll squeeze.

Yes, but where are they going?

I decided to delete my original post bc I don’t want a war on here. I took the high road. I doubt we have any fans that have actually coached football but maybe I am wrong. I hate losing, over the years, I have walked out of the stadium saying I would never come back. I felt like jimmy fallon in “fever pitch” for close to 50 years going to games. The cotton bowl was Memphis World Series bc we finally made it with the big boys.

I am frustrated too with blowing leads and injuries… it’s part of the game. I doubt dabo is excited about being 4-3 nor rhe fans. I hope RS can fix it. We are playing young players and hopefully they mature.

If we miss a block or miss a tackle, get sacked, fumble, throw a interception, miss a field goal, shank a punt, get a penalty , give up a score, EVERYONE blames the coaching staff bc he wasn’t the hire you wanted. We are not a blue blood school that can get a saban, Sweeney, smartt, and the list goes on… we have to get a assistant coach or a retread.

Probably the same guys griping to fire the coach are the ones that leave at half time to watch Tennessee play or gripe about paying $60 for a ticket and waiting for Kroger $5 ticket or their friend to give them a ticket.

There will be some internet tough guys that will bash me and so be it. That’s your prerogative but sometimes it might behoove us to understand the game better than what you heard Kirk herbstreet said .

Where is the tigers going? In two weeks home game with SMU. I will be there supporting to the final horn and trek back 250 miles back.

Go Tigers

Yeah for me it's primarily Louisville and Cincinnati, then Mississippi, then Houston, then UT, then UCF.

We've played USM in football for a looooooong time and not for about 10 years so, yeah - this one time rivalry has really wilted and faded away along with their athletics - shame.

We've only played UAB 15 times total in football - that's it - and they've won 10 due to the shambles fb used to be but honestly they are not on any list of rivals that I would come up with - maybe in bb but not really.

UAB, SMU, Tulane, Tulsa, USF, - none of the nAAC members move the needle at all for me. Sure - want to win the games on the schedule but as far as rivalries go it's a big zero.

The conference realignment fairy comes along about every decade and takes the top off the G5 so there simply isn't time to build anything like the historical rivals that exist in the P5 and even some of those have been borked by realignment.

Well, we always have our super compelling OOC games

Pfft don't worry about it - its just a message board where people talk about 18-22 year olds playing semi-pro sports under our tribal colors / identity (school affiliation for the woke lefties looking for any -ism refererences to protest).

We can't control any of it but we care enough to talk about it.

Conference upheaval along with losing or almost losing to 1 win teams, wondering if the B12 invite will happen - descending from a Cotton Bowl team to a hot mess in 1 1/2 seasons....

Just has everyone edgy. The white knights are gonna white knight, the bitchers are gonna *****. Even when the team is winning you have people complaining about not winning by enough.

I think 2 things about Silver: 1) you don't let the players hire the coach 2) you don't hire someone without even coordinator experience to run the program.

1 - Louisville
2 - UTK
3 - Cincy
4 - Old Miss
5 - Houston
6 - tie UCF, SMU, MissStake, Arkinsaw, Vandy
then everybody else

Unfortunately, we have been playing only 4 of these regularly, and that could be going to 1 in the future.
I know the $EC like to look down their noses at us and don't want to come to play us home-home. And now that both fb and bb can beat them, they don't want to risk a loss either.
However, I don't understand why a L'ville series has never come about.
And I'm hopeful that UH and UC will want to continue to play us regardless of conference.

If you were UC and UH, would you want to play memphis in football or any leftovers from the AAC or would you take Baylor, OSU, Iowa, Texas Tech? It's not even close. The AAC has took several steps lower with new teams that are small and not much history.

How the heck did Charlotte and Rice make it?
What would Utsa record look like if they played Memphis, Houston, UCF, and SMU on a regular basis. Not like this year.

Navy, SMU, and Memphis have to rule and squash all teams to keep this conference a power 6.

It's hard to say you're taking the high road, when in the very next sentence you condescend towards the entire fan base like you're the only one who understands this mind-boggling game of football.

The only thing I'll address here is the comment on fans not wanting CRS. For sure there are some. But that's not me. I've defended and pulled for him. I want no other coach in college fb to be as successful as him because he coaches the only team I care about.

At the same time, it's not so far-fetched as to question the team's performance. And then it's a small leap from there to the staff. And then you start to think about the hiring process. We didn't hire an established coach in Fuente or Norvell. But we had a search firm and committee who came together to get 2 of the hottest Assistants in college fb. This time, we had an internal hire from a new AD. It wasn't a panic hire and it wasn't settling. It seems we went about it with a different process for some reason. Why?

My blood runs as blue as anyone and I'm accused by some trolls as being a happy clapper with blue shades. But I can see where the questions and criticism are coming from with this team - and come up with some of my own. It will take some good performances down the stretch to win some people back over. We will see. As for me, I will be back for the next home game.

Solid points and no i dont think i am a guru but some fans think we have alabama money and can afford to dismiss RS..
It probably was a lazy hire but i guees i could whine and complain like everyone else but it is his 2nd year. If after 3 years we are under achieving, i might be leading the cheers but RS has numerous chqllenges that no other memphis fb coach has had to deal with ( his rosyer) covidd, transfer portal, opting out...

I hope we make some assist. Coaches changes to help us

I'll only add that I'm a season ticket holder for many years, including many lean years & I come from GA for most every home game & many away games like that sorry effort in Orlando - I certainly don't leave at halftime. But I'm very concerned about the direction of the program. I'm very disppointed we didn't get the move up & concerned about the indecision of the admin about the decisions that have to be made to move up. I'm even more concerned about having the right coach, the right AD & a lame duck president/a yet unknown next president when there is the potential to put several bad seasons together at a time when it cannot be afforded financially or in how we are judged by the B-12.
