RE: MAC Bowl Projections
The Boca Bowl would work well for me, but the last time we were there we got beat up by UAB. A nice warm weather bowl for the NIU faithful, and in a decent area.
Another Rod bowl disaster, and that was coming off the fantastic 2018 MACC.

You could say that about all the recent bowls. "We went to [insert city] and got destroyed by [insert school]". We don't have Rod anymore so we'd probably have a chance to win one, or at least not get curb stomped.

To this day, I think if Rod were ever lucky enough to get Temple to a bowl in Detroit, he would say that his team does not want to go because there is no lake or ocean and warm weather for swimming. Bowls are a vacation for the Rodster!

I think Rod needs to focus on getting lit up by Gus this week. His team is diving down fast.

Does that excite anyone?
Then why add them to the conference?
That would (likely) replace NIU vs Toledo as an annual conference game.
I don’t trust MAC “leadership” to do what’s best for NIU or the MAC.
*Sorry to go off topic.

Great Point. But on the other hand, If they join the MAC, then we don't have to worry about a NIU/WKU bowl matchup in the future.
But in all honestly, after the the lackluster of name prestige wears off, this would be a fun game to watch.

RE: MAC Bowl Projections
Detroit vs a G5 would be the worst. Jerry Palm has NIU vs Maryland in Quick Lane, which would be cool. Seems like the projections have MAC teams going to either Bahamas, Boca, Boise, Detroit, Mobile, Birmingham, Montgomery, Tampa, Orlando, Tucson. More may open up if other conferences are unable to fill their bowl allotment. That’s more worth paying attention to than these dart throws imo

RE: MAC Bowl Projections
Former WKU QB Mike White had a decent debut last night. Guy was on and off the practice squad for years like Chandler Harnish. Made the most of his shot and might’ve created a QB controversy

With all these new bowls and the more teams from the MAC that are bowl eligible, the money pooled from the bowls payouts will be higher. I know some of these payouts are paltry, but every bit helps.

RE: MAC Bowl Projections
Currently the MAC stands at FOUR bowl eligible teams with very likely four more qualifying by season’s end, including the entire MAC West.

At this point (as usual) bowl projections are all over the place. However, the Quick Lane Bowl is a popular pick for us. Athlon Sports, Action Network, USA Today and 247 also has NIU v, Maryland in the Quick Lane Bowl. Yardbarker has us in the Quick Lane Bowl against W. Kentucky. I saw us against Fresno St. and Nevada in different bowl games on other sites.
Maryland is 5-5, with its last 2 games against Michigan and Rutgers (who's also 5-5 and its other remaining game is against Penn State). Unless a 5-win BIG team gets a bowl, it may come down to which team is the winner of the Maryland v. Rutgers game (presuming we do get the Quick Lane Bowl). If we get the the Quick Lane Bowl, I'd prefer Rutgers - I grew up 15 minutes away from the Rutgers campus.

CBS sports projects the Fighting Hammocks vs Nevada in the Arizona Bowl. To me that’s a fun match up but it’s a streaming only game sponsored by Barstool so it has its downsides.

The Arizona Bowl is the Vegas 16 8 of football.

That's an amazing analogy. I think that's an interesting and winnable matchup. But I'd like a little more exposure than streaming only.

There are worse places to be than Tucson on New Year’s Eve.
