I don't see a path for KY either assuming GA doesn't blow up. 1-loss SEC is fantastic, but FLA is only real good win and not much left on schedule. Mississippi scares me...Heisman leader, Lane Kiffin, could go SEC 1-loss taking scalps Ark, Aub, A&M along the way. Only loss to Bama. That one is not a slam dunk for Cincy to get in over IMO. You have to consider Wake. They will get in over Cincy if both go undefeated also IMO.

So they are probably pretty good but we are not 100% sure, gotcha.

Wake Forest thus far:

Old Dominion 42-10
Norfolk State 41-16
FSU 35-14
UVA 37-17
Louisville 37-34
Syracuse 40-37
Army 70-56

Their remaining schedule is Duke, UNC, NC State, Clemson and BC. I think they lose to one or both of UNC or NC State. If they beat those teams I think they would lose to Pitt in the ACC CCG (can you tell I am not sold on them).

Those last three scores stand out that they may have a UC under Brian Kelly type defense.

Pitt with the 7th best odds to make the playoff (23%) per latest ESPN Allstate Playoff Predictor. Is it possible for them to jump us if they run the table? They have a bad loss to W. Mich and schedule is not great (in general the ACC). I was surprised to see how high their % was. ND 9th at 8% which continues to give us credibility. Absolutely critical that ND keeps winning for us IMO.

No team with a loss to Western Michigan is EVER getting into the playoffs. At least not a 4 team playoff.

The good thing about this list is that there are two sets of 3 teams that will eat themselves.

Ohio State over Michigan State
Michigan over Ohio State
Iowa beats whichever of the three, in the CCG.

Doubt all will happen.

Similar thing needed in Big 12.

Baylor and Ok. State both need to beat OU.
Then they both need to split reg season and CCG meetings.

Also a big ask.

Finally, Oregon and Wake each need to lose just one more game. A little more likely than the other two.

Oregon has some tough matchups down the road with Utah and OR St so a loss is not at all out of the question. The question i/r Wake is whether anyone can slow them down. They play Clemson, fwiw, but that might be the best chance, barring injury, for them to pick up a W.

A lot will happen to bump some of these things off the board, but for fun.....The way I would expect them to rank theoretical teams if they exist.

Undefeated Georgia
1 loss Alabama
Undefeated Michigan St
1 loss Georgia
1 loss Ohio St
Undefeated Oklahoma
1 loss Michigan/Michigan St if B10 champs
Undefeated Wake
Undefeated Cincy
1 loss B12 champ
1 loss Oregon
2 loss Bama

If I'm being really honest about it all, the ones that feel like toss ups to me are undefeated Wake, 12-1 Baylor, 12-1 OKST, 12-1 Oregon.

I think these are all in above us. Even a 2-loss Bama scares me but I think that is the cut-off and we would be in above them.
