Each of these has a decent chance of occurring.
If UC goes undefeated, does anybody on the planet think that they will get left out in favor of a 1-4 that will each have one loss? Not happening.
I could see them not putting Oklahoma in given how terrible they looked against Alabama and LSU their last 2 times when they snuck in after people talking about how trash they were.

^^^^ this. Don’t think for a minute TV execs wouldn’t like seeing a UC v. Georgia rematch in that semifinal game at the Orange Bowl.
And the NCAA has been having its lunch $$ taken away by the courts and legislation this past year...they know if they screw over a school that sits #2 in the AP there will be a cacophony of calls for antitrust hearings before February. They need that like a case of the clap.

one game at a time.
keep winning and blowing em out.
control what we can control.
if UC wins out UC will stay where they are in the polls safely in the top 4.
If the CFP committee passes them over for a P5 school, the committee will have some splaining to do and will be exposed to the nation as biased frauds protecting their own.
go bearcats.

Georgia beats Bama in the SEC title game.
Ohio State rolls through the Big10 and crushes Iowa in the championship game.
Oklahoma wins out.
Wake will most certainly lose a game.
The CFP is going to be:
Georgia
OSU
Oklahoma
UC
You heard it here first! :)
The only wildcard is Oregon. If Oklahoma stumbles Oregon takes their spot. If everyone wins out as I stated it'll be close between UC and Oregon.

If UC wins out there's no way we wouldn't be in the CFP being that we're ranked #2 right now.
If they had the balls to put someone in over us then they would lose all credibility for the CFP and themselves as a committee.
And if we lose to one of the palookas left on our schedule then we don't deserve to get in.

Last year the CFP committee had a 3 loss Florida team ranked higher than an unbeaten UC team. I wouldn't put anything past them.

What was said at that time was we only had 9 games for data points and we didn't play any strong OOC to compare us with other teams. We've covered those issues this year. As has been stated, if the committee doesn't put us in if we finish undefeated then they will have to face the backlash and explain why UC was left out. We can't control that anyway. We just need to win every game and the rest will work itself out.

This is exactly why I think 1-loss P5 champs get in above an undefeated UC with exception of maybe ACC. Wait until that 5-6 week stretch of rankings comes out and they're talking about Cincy beating Tulane, ECU, USF, etc. The discussion will all come back to strength of schedule. And hold onto your hat should ND melt down.

I think the B12 made a really smart move by not having E/W or N/S divisions and just letting the 2 best teams face off in conf champ game. For example, this year that could be a 1-loss Okla / 1-loss Okla St and winner is likely in CFP. Gives the conference a better chance than say a Big 10 that could get left out if a 2-loss Iowa pulls off the upset.

In years past the committee has used common opponents to seperate teams. If we beat Tulsa and Tulane the same way we've beaten everyone else, something tells me the committee will ignore the Buckeyes and Sooners struggling with each of those teams (at home no less).

Thought so. Enjoy this moment in our history gents! Why worry about who will finish ahead of us? Maybe, other teams should worry about who will finish above them.
Ironically, I think UC gets props in SEC country.
Repeatedly since 2009, I've heard SEC fans stick up for UC. I'm seeing it even more this year.
Maybe SEC fans pay closer attention? Or maybe they just don't see UC as a threat to their playoff access like ACC or PAC fans do, or as a recruiting threat like Big 10 fans do.

Good point. SEC fans are football fanatics. Football-centric. They know good football when they smell it, see it. Shoot, my wife is an Auburn alum and she knows and appreciates football big time. I think it's also about our style of play and game film from this season and last. Film don't lie. I've heard more comments recently from coaches, ex-coaches, former players, sports media types that the Cincinnati brand of football is legit. No gimmicks. We come at you from all sides of the ball. Toughness and talented. We ain't held back because of some label others not in the know give us.

Bolded, I agree, this is a critical distinction between our 2021 Bearcats and others who have sometimes risen in the polls using smoke and mirrors to pull upsets over teams or programs perceived to be better overall.
The SEC respect is interesting to me too and I would agree it seems to be more the case than any respect from our nearby neighbors in the B10. Indiana's coach blamed their loss to UC on the ejection of just one player on his defense. LOL, so much for having superior talent across the board.
Finally, I know B10 fans who are full of bluster but also very insecure about the fact that their conference is a clear "second" to the SEC. For those folks, an undefeated, #2 ranked Cincinnati, operating in "B10 Country" is a pebble in their shoe right now that won't go away. If that continues and UC supplants the B10 in the CFP this year, all the better as far as I'm concerned.

Oddly enough. I see the complete opposite. Generally the SEC fans are the ones saying we don't play anybody and it's Big 10 fans who stick up for UC.

As it has been discussed many times, I think the biggest haters are the t-shirt OSU and UK fans living in the Tri-State. There are many who post on Twitter and other social media who seem to always interject themselves into UC related tweets to “tell everyone” there are more OSU and UK fans in town than UC and how they have never even seen a UC flag on any houses around here. These guys also seem to still want to bring up the 42-0 OSU games from 2019 as if that score would be replicated today.
Our success and all the attention the team is getting is rocking their world.

RE: Teams that could finish above Cincy by end of year
We have a week before the CFP rankings come out (11/3). It will give us a clear picture of our chances. Below I’ve grouped this list into conference scenarios. How many times have 2 teams from the same conference be included?
SEC - 1, unlikely 2
Georgia 7-0
Bama 7-1
Kentucky 6-1 (No Path)
Miss 6-1 (No Path)
Big10 - 1
Michigan St 7-0
Michigan 7-0
Ohio St 6-1
Iowa 6-1
Big12 - 1
Okla 8-0
Oka St 6-1
Baylor 6-1
ACC - unlikely 1
Wake 7-0
Pitt 6-1
PAC 12 - unlikely 1
Oregon
If we are behind Bama, Oregon or Wake it’s clear we will be screwed

Michigan and Michigan State play this weekend and the loser will likely be eliminated from the CFP discussion (unless some form of mayhem occurs and one of these teams still magically wins the Big 10 CCG).
If MSU wins, they still have to play @Purdue, @OSU, and beat Penn State at home.
If Michigan wins, they still have to play @Penn State and beat OSU at home.
OSU running the table seems like the most likely scenario in that league.
If they trip up against Iowa in the CCG, hopefully Iowa was previously dealt a 2nd loss in one of their 3 remaining road games (@Wisconsin, @Northwestern, @Nebraska).

@Utah appears to be the most likely game for Oregon to pick up a 2nd loss en route to the PAC 12 CCG.
Their remaining schedule look pretty favorable otherwise.

Bolded, having watched Penn State struggle against a poor IL team in State College, I think PSU certainly won't beat MI. Maybe this is the year that the Wolverines finally have OSU's number in Ann Arbor. I wouldn't bet the rent money on it, but odds are they're going to win that game sometime this decade. But it appears increasingly likely that both teams in the B10 CCG will have at least one loss before that kicks off.
