I think--correct me if wrong--like you wouldn't anyway LOL--that is was mentioned somewhere that the players wanted him on the field----what a surprise ---they picked the head coach --and is now instructing the OC where to call the game SMH

Whatever it takes to help the team win games is ok with me.

In case you couldn't tell, I was trying to get the thread back on topic....

If having him down there helps I don't care if he's sitting in a hot tub sipping maitai's.

So, if Silverfield buys us wine after losses, he gets to stay?

Sounds Irish to me.

I'm in.

You should've seen Thursday night. That was something to behold.

Can't confirm anything beyond he did play in the second half...

So . . . pretty much complete refudiation of the Fire the Coach crowd's point, unless:

a) you're lying,
b) even though you couldn't find him on the sideline the rest of the first half, he wasn't in the locker room, he was at the concession stand having a hot dog and beer paid for with Silverfield's lunch money that he took,
c) he didn't get chewed out at halftime, apologized and said something like "it's just that I was still mad from the skirmish, I didn't mean to show you disrespect", but rather he told Silverfield "Thanks for the beer and hot dog chump, now I'm ready to play in the 2nd half".

I believe the posters----and lets assume you are correct ---and he was in the locker room--and he did apologize at the half. I think you still have to sit him--suspend him ?--there has to be some repercussion ---otherwise it sets a bad precedent

Should he have paid attention to coach absolutely...

But as soon as the coach put his hands on the player the player had every right to slap his hand away without repercussions...Those days are gone. These are grown men...Keep your hands to yourself. If my boss didn't like something I did and he decided to grab my collar...It aint gonna end well.

The players deserve the same respect as any grown man.

Does your employer require you to hit your co-workers all week long? Then require you to go out and hit your competitors on Saturday? Do you have to run laps around the Office when you do something wrong?

Don't compare football to a normal job. It's just not.

If CRS was grabbing him forcefully, then that's one thing. But there is zero evidence that happened. In fact, the media is silent on this. So all we have is a couple of fans who think they saw him grab a jersey.

Blowing it out of proportion.

I am saying the player had every right to slap the hand away...

Not saying Silverfield should be punished for doing it...I am sure Silverfield knows better and likely was in the moment just like the player was.

The rule always is...Keep your hands to yourself. You put your hands on someone they have every right to stop you.
