Homecoming Week.
Was on campus today for the first time to see all of the new upgrades throughout the entire complex. Wow. She’s come a long way since the early 2000’s. All of the new buildings, pedestrian walkways, and of course the upgrades to the Atheltics facilities are awesome. Who all is going to be there sometime this week.?

Moved back to the ‘Ville a couple years ago after 30 years in the Metroplex.
Best thing I ever did. Always been active in the Texan Club, have had season tickets, but it’s great to kinda be in the middle of it all again!

RE: Homecoming Week.
I have been on campus every year for games... but to walk around with a tour group and see the new construction projects that have occurred over the last 10 years was really nice. The current generation college student has so much to be thankful for. I know they pay for it in the long run, but they have A LOT of nicer stuff than the old Bender, Ferguson, Crockett days.

PS- The pedestrian walkways (Ex. Lillian St.) was really nice walking out of the commons area from the library not worrying about which brand of diesel truck would run you over or smoke you out.

RE: Homecoming Week.
I will be at the game as a long time season ticket holder and member of the Texan Club. am hopefully we hit the 15,000 attendance goal.

I too am impressed with the campus. I am dating myself but the mention of Crockett brings back some memories as it was my first dorm.

Mrs. TexanFan and I will be stopping at the new restaurant on Chalk Mountain on our way to the game. Looking forward to both game and beer at restaurant.

Go Texans!!!!!

Chalk Mountain is Mrs. Wisdomgymrat's old stomping grounds. 15k in attendance will be nice, but which team will show up is still a question.

Do you know about the restaurant? It is in and around the old gas station on the curve and the opposite side of 67 from the Masonic Lodge. Its been open just a few weeks.

I think it is run by the owners of Blackies in downtown Glen Rose. If they serve food as good as Blackies Sunday brunch, it will be darn good.

Watching at home… are there 15k in the stands? West side bleachers look a little thin.

I was at the game and I don’t think based upon what I saw, the announced attendance number was accurate.

RE: Homecoming Week.
If that was 16,000 then judging by the empty seats on the east side, we can already hit 20,000.

RE: Homecoming Week.
My issue with yesterday was getting into the stadium. The lines were outrageously long. We were planning on a huge crowd and it appeared we weren’t prepared for them. It was ridiculous.

I’ll give the group this one as it was the first, but the lack of planning and preparation for large crowds can’t happen again.

Also ate and drank the new place on Chalk Mountain, Blackies Gas Stop.

Has an Austin Hill Country vibe to the place. Good selection of beers on tap, full bar and the food was good. They have a stage and will be holding concerts. Have inside and outside seating.

Highly recommend a visit for all.

Probably a solid 8-9,000 there. The AD gave away 4,000 tickets to help boost the numbers. 4,000 + 11,000 students (who already paid with tuition) = 15,000 + 1,200 or so who actually bought tickets? Nice gymnastics to get there! 02-13-banana

I used to giggle at the old LSC “official” attendance #s. Lots of creativity involved. There were definitely more than 8-9k here Saturday. But nowhere near 16.2.
