Gotta give some of that credit to UAB and it's fans. UAB had what looked like its full band and they also brought a good amount of fans. Without them it wouldn't have been over 20k.

If you are referring to butts in seats you are correct. They were many who chose to stay in the tailgate area and do their thing. As well I saw on Facebook/twitter where fans were posting they weren't able to make and were offering their tickets so there were plenty of tickets purchased that never showed up. But yes, if they were counting butts in seats it was probably closer to 15k

That isn't true at all. There is no way UNT had more than 2,000 in Apogee Friday night. You can count all the players, and the band, the coaches, the ticket-takers, the concession stand workers, and the few people in the stands, but there still wasn't more than 2K in our stadium at any time Friday night. The fans have turned on our program. Go back and look at the stands for the Marshall game. The truth is right there.

Has our resident attendance expert confirmed this number? Until he has I can’t trust it.

They became ranked after the game. I think the number is solid. I think UTEP would be similar to that number if they were undefeated right now. UTEP will have a chance to show them how it’s done in a few weeks. I’m pretty sure most Miner fans would be happy with 27k in attendance for that game.

UTSA atmosphere looked good on TV.

I don't agree with you. I hear the word "if" thrown around a lot among UTEP fans. I would agree "if" this was 20 years ago. Until we can be ranked and fill up the stadium in modern day I'll agree. Another one I hear a lot "if" we host the cusa championship game we'll have 50k. Let's do it and actually prove it instead of always using examples from 20 year or hypothetical situations.
