Walgreens closes five more San Francisco locations
citing ‘organized retail crime’

Quote:Walgreens is closing five more San Francisco locations as drug stores from the Bay Area to the Big Apple are besieged by rampant shoplifting and lax enforcement.

San Fran shoplifters have been emboldened by a referendum that lowered the penalty for stealing goods worth less than $950 from a felony to a misdemeanor, cops and prosecutors have said.

A spokesperson for the company confirmed the latest closures to SFGate.

“Organized retail crime continues to be a challenge facing retailers across San Francisco, and we are not immune to that,” Walgreens spokesperson Phil Caruso told the outlet.

“Retail theft across our San Francisco stores has continued to increase in the past few months to five times our chain average. During this time to help combat this issue, we increased our investments in security measures in stores across the city to 46 times our chain average in an effort to provide a safe environment.”

The retailer had previously shuttered 17 stores in San Francisco during the past five years, Fox News reported.

A member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors said the new closures will “significantly impact” the community.

RE: Walgreens closes five more San Francisco locations
So they are spending 46 times their average to protect stores in the Bay Area and still have to close because of shoplifting? Wow.

The statement that these closures are going to have a significant impact on the community... Good. Let them get what they voted for and enjoy the results of nowhere to shop.

But I feel awful for the elderly people that depend on their local pharmacy for things they need and may not be able to drive miles to the next closest location.

I bet Amazon and other online pharmacist are doing a good business there. Hmmm.

Drive out business with idiotic Liberal policy then blame business for being “absurd and unfair” for raising prices to cover losses or increased tax. It’s easier just to shut the businesses down.

This same scenario has been played out in every ghetto in the Nation from New York to Los Angeles. The natives thieve and thug businesses into closing then complain there are no services in their neighborhood. Another business, pressured by the Lefts savior complex, steps up, opens another business and the process starts over.

Liberalism in action. 03-lmfao

All according to plan. The elites wish for us regular people to live like those in the USSR did.

IIRC I've told the story of a group of Russian exchange students gathering at my house back some time around 93-94. We needed to go to Kroger for groceries and they all wanted to see a supermarket, something they'd only read and heard about. We loaded up a group of them and went to the local Kroger. As they entered you could see they were visibly shaken, many to the point of tears. They had never seen such an abundance of goods. At that time the "stores" in the former USSR were still experiencing mostly bare shelves. Hardship was normal and accepted.

THAT is where the global elites are trying to push the rest of us poor little people. What does anyone really think the interruptions to our supply chains are meant to accomplish?

We are screwed if we don't fight back somehow.

Didn't Kumswalla say something to the effect that Commiefornia is the model for which the US should be based on?

As far as closing stores because of the criminals, all I have to say to that is the people in San Fran get what they deserve.

Racist Trump supporters--- that must be the reason. Biden will probably end up with a huge new corporate welfare program to pay these mega corps to reopen closed stores.

Quite simply, if there is nothing there to steal, you can’t steal it.
