Wow. I totally missed that. Thought he had said he would be rooting against us. Guess I’m very shocked he’s pulling for us lol. Thanks for catching my mistake!

Gotta watch Chuck, he is quick online and IRL.

I will be a neutral party with a slight Cajun lean tonight for the guys I know and because Jabbar and Jeff are guys I have had good interactions with over the years. No promises on my oldest though. He is a Tech fan through and through and is constantly surrounded by Vermillion and White and Purple and Gold on every "College Colors Day", so no promises. I guess being a season ticket holder in OO and O as a young alumni (surrounded by student section) may have aided with that.

How long you’ve lived in lft? What area?

Just over a decade. Spent the first few years in Broussard, then as the family expanded moved to Youngsville weeks before the flood and my wife understood why I had no-go areas on the map based on the flood plain.

Obviously that boy has been raised right. I can relate, my oldest eats, sleeps and breathes Tech athletics. Interestingly, he's married to a UL-Monroe grad, so there's that. I think she's coming around. 04-cheers

I'll have to reintroduce him and myself at the UTSA game if you are there.I don't think we've seen each other in a couple years outside of maybe a wave when I'm up by the lake visiting family.

Ok, you hit a nerve with me, lol.

We lived in NOLA for most of the 90’s and moved back in ’01 and bought a house in Broussard/Youngsville, actually in un-incorporated LFT parish, as it was not in any 1 town. We had a LFT address, a Youngsville land-line and Broussard water/sewage. And really hated it! This was during all the major growth, and before any roads were built, etc. It took forever to get to hwy 90, and much longer to get to LFT, esp on the weekends. This was before they extended Amb Caff to 90 or even before they extended Chemin Metairie Pkwy. Plus, there was way too many neighbors with purple and gold stuff in their lawns, and all that attitude to go with it. All the growth was very difficult to deal with.

New subdivisions were going up each week, with zero infrastructure to go with it. None of the 3 towns were going to lose out on all those tax dollars so it just got out of control. The flood brought all that to light though, as the growth now has been in Maurice in the south, and Carencro in the north and even finally reaching the west in Scott. Never could understand why the Youngsville area was so sought after, but the friends we have that live there love it.

Moved to our current house off Myrtle St in ’09 (St Street area), and couldn’t be happier. We can walk to downtown in good weather, and its super easy to get to the ath complex too. Easy to get anywhere in the city actually. Plus zero lsu shite in the yards, thank you jesus.

It was a compromise between the wife and myself. At the time I moved as far out while still being in the school zone we wanted, and still close enough that she can access everything she enjoys about living in the Lafayette area.

I'm from a rural lake town in the northern part of the state, so I'm sure mine and your takes on the optimum home location have a slight variance. To each their own though, that is one thing the Lafayette area does offer. Can have rural, suburban, or city living just a few miles apart.

Gotcha. And that is exactly how I describe it when people ask about LFT, I’ll usually say it’s certainly not a big/major city, but it’s not a small town either, or rural, but that it’s got the good elements of all of those which makes it a really great place to live.

Same goes to how the UL campus is classified as ‘urban.’ Don’t really like that….ga state in downtown ATL, now that’s urban….but it’s not college townish either, and certainly not rural. Say what you want about our school, and I’m sure you have, lol, but we have one heck of a beautiful campus. It just doesn’t really fit neatly into one category.

Enjoy the game…I’m heading out now. Wish it were a tad cooler but glad it’s not raining.

Especially since you claim to be this neutral, unbiased source? LOL. That kind of petty, childish behavior proves otherwise.

This is the CUSA board. I know with how often you are over here to feed your Tech obsession you may forget that at times, but on this board you don't get to play the name game. You and your ilk have fun with the "LTUR-D" on your board, even going as far as to constantly try and update Louisiana Tech and the ULS wiki pages to add "Ruston" to Tech's official name. You don't get to play the name game here as well. If anything given that without Tech telling the SBC nah and going to the WAC, you guys would still be USL, maybe you should say thank you. If Tech goes to the SBC instead of the WAC then; no NLU - USL agreement to change the university names where your administration slowly worked the "Louisiana-Lafayette", "Louisiana's Ragin Cajuns", "Louisiana Ragin Cajuns" slow play as the ULS board picked their nose and tried to figure out how to siphon more money to Baton Rouge.
Lol. There’s some funny stuff in your post but as a visitor I’ll just leave be.

But I will just say again that I’m not pointing out what cusa posters say, just this A41 guy and his nonsensical claims of being unbiased and neutral.

I mean we really don’t care anymore what other fans call us, especially ltu posters. At this point the war is won and anyone hanging on to it is like those Japanese soldier hiding in the jungle for so long he doesn’t know that he is hopelessly out of touch and should just get with the times.

My entire point was that this is a CUSA thread on a CUSA board discussing CUSA teams projected bowl destinations at this point in the season, and I didn't want to see it turn into another name thread. This is why I reference the school as the Cajuns when referring to y'all.

I harbor no ill-will, just grow tired of some of the posters who seem to hijack threads weekly on the name issue. I will be on the corner of Bertrand and Congress tonight to watch the game, and won't be rooting against the Cajuns, haha.

It's strange that Franky thinks I ever claimed neutrality and non-bias towards the Slum Belch. I made an effort, but I was expected to kiss their ass and make judgments on their board about their schools that isn't grounded in reality. Victimhood mentality since the last round of realignment consumes the fans of that conference and panders to that expectation.

So if you take a look at my avatar, that is where I focus my sports energy and research and neutrality. Notice the Power Conferences aren't shown. That's because they're privileged. The Slum Belch is also not there...because they are fake and posture themselves as the top Gang of 5 conference when they clearly aren't.

I get the name games and I do not care what fans call my school.
I think it says a lot about someone who feels the need to change the text of an article/post. It just seems petty and frankly, a little sad.

Yup!

They are ULL and that's their legal name. I am not about to change what I call them and neither is any other non-ULL fan in the state of Louisiana.

Again, call us whatever name you want but some posters try to pull the 'legal name' BS. ULL is not it. But carry on.
My only point was that it is sad for a poster to go through the trouble of changing a school name from a posted article. Kinda like the ltu guy a few year ago who took the time to create an extension so that any time 'Louisiana' appeared on a webpage it changed it to ULL or something like that. The catch is that only that person saw the change.

I'll be there +1, maybe 2 depending on if the better half lets the youngest stay out that late on a Tuesday night. I know several kids on the Cajun football and baseball teams and do make an effort to see them play when I have availability.

Also its a good G5 contest on paper with two possible bowl opponents for my Dogs, so looking forward to it.
Sounds good. Yeah we are hoping for a good game for sure. FYI: I am leaving work at noon today to do some tailgating and took off tomorrow so I can enjoy myself tonight or sulk in peace tomorrow. Hope we put on a good show for you and that you are really dissapointed by the outcome lol

So you WANT to LOSE the game? He said he's not rooting against the Cajuns. I'm confused.

Wow. I totally missed that. Thought he had said he would be rooting against us. Guess I’m very shocked he’s pulling for us lol. Thanks for catching my mistake!
If it makes you feel better, I am rooting against you.

Yeah, lol. I love it the most when they pull the whole ‘legal’ bunny out of the hat. And yeah, at this point it matters not one teeny bit what posters on fan boards call us. It is expected yet totally meaningless. That battle has been won for years now.

This is the matchup I want this year. Since you have such a hard on for Tech you are going to regret ever mouthing off.

Me too. I sincerely hope LA Tech draws ULALA in the NO Bowl. I saw those sissies play last week, and LA Tech will beat them big.

I married an NLU grad. She says her school doesn't exist anymore. But in the spring when she walks for her masters at Bama....Lord help the purple and pizz around us! lol.

It may not matter on a message board, but I know in the state of Louisiana. No non-ULL fan here is going to call you "Louisiana". Got to give props to whoever set that extension up. That is hilarious.

But if you really are attending the game we thank you. Attendance will be an issue so we need as many butts in seats as we can get! Even on the App side!

You are a Drama Queen. Every day I come over to this board for a short while just to catch up, and it seems like 40% of the stuff I see is you always fighting with someone, or being silly with your stupid name issues. You can't seem to get along with anybody. I'm guessing your mother hates you too. At least that's what she told me last night in bed.

Yeah, lol. I love it the most when they pull the whole ‘legal’ bunny out of the hat. And yeah, at this point it matters not one teeny bit what posters on fan boards call us. It is expected yet totally meaningless. That battle has been won for years now.
It may not matter on a message board, but I know in the state of Louisiana. No non-ULL fan here is going to call you "Louisiana". Got to give props to whoever set that extension up. That is hilarious.
Maybe, maybe not. But I can promise that anyone in our conference will refer to us correctly, as will all the major media outlets, the ncaa, etc., etc., etc.

So again, what non-UL fans call us, whether in the state, out of state, on message boards, etc., matters not. Not one teeny bit.
