RE: Record High 4.3 million Americans quit their jobs in August
Went to a well known restaurant in Greenville several weeks ago in the downtown area. It was jam packed down there for parents weekend and the Friday night rally with concert they do before every home football game. Every restaurant had 1-1.5 our wait and people raked it in I'm sure. This was the only place I could see open tables in so the wife and I walked in, folks stopped us before we got to the door and said the kitchen had just closed because the staff walked out. Sad times for small business owners. There's no real incentive to work for someone who is working part time when they can sit at home and make more money.

But dont worry cause we're Building Back Better.

If you quit your job in Kentucky and say you’re scared of getting Covid you can get unemployment. If your benefits are close to running out, you can tell them you’re scared of getting Covid, your benefits will be extended.

Up to 40% of Kentuckians have been on unemployment at one time or another during Covid.

People everywhere are lazy. People in Kentucky have made it an occupation.

Wait til December 8th when President Numbnuts and his Leftist puppet masters vaccine mandate kicks in. Employees will be leaving in droves. I got the jab back in April with the hope that I would be allowed to go to a ballgame and not be required to wear that ridiculous mask on my face. My place of employment is about 70% vaxed, and that 30% that are unvaxed ain't gonna get vaxed. This means that on December 8th the unvaxed are terminated. This will be a long tough winter with a serious labor shortage, serious supply chain issues, and skyrocketing material costs. With the Leftists now running the show, we'll look back on the Carter years as "The good old days"....

For all those that talk about how great socialism is and want it implemented here, I hope they like the bare shelves and long lines that socialism brings. We're about to get a taste of it sooner rather than later.

That might explain KY, but we are having severe staffing shortages in TN where the weekly unemployment is capped at $275.

There are plenty of high paying jobs out there now, people aren't going to work for the crumbs some of the places want to pay when they can take the same level of skills somewhere else and make more money. There isn't a warehouse job around Nashville that isn't starting at $18-$20 p/h but McDonalds still wants to start people at $10?

in fairness the number of quits is not necessarily a bad thing. many workers quit to get a better job, you have to balance the number of quits against the growth in the job market.

not that this is the case here.

In Florida you are capped at $400 weekly unemployment and we have the same shortages.

Unfortunately none of the people that quit their jobs work at the white house.
