Virginia parents slam Obama's 'tone-deaf' dismissal of education issues amid alleged sexual assault

Quote:Former President Obama condemned Virginia Republican gubernatorial candidate Glenn Youngkin for focusing on hot-button education issues during the campaign, dismissing those issues as unserious and "fake outrage." Virginia parents and parent advocates shot back at Obama's remarks, calling them "tone deaf" and "clueless."

"We don't have time to be wasting on these phony trumped-up culture wars, this fake outrage that right-wing media peddles to juice their ratings," Obama said while campaigning for Democrat Terry McAuliffe on Saturday. He accused Youngkin of avoiding "serious problems that affect serious people" and suggested that outrage over the actions of school boards is unjustified.

"Instead of stoking anger aimed at school boards and administrators, who are just trying to keep our kids safe… we should be making it easier for teachers and schools to give our kids the world-class education they deserve, and to do so safely while they are in the classroom," Obama said.

Parents did not take kindly to Obama's remarks.

"That is the most tone-deaf statement I have ever heard," Brandon Michon, a frustrated father of three in Loudoun County, Virginia, told Fox News on Sunday. "First and foremost, everything that has come up with the cover-up in Loudoun County has to do with a sexual assault on girls. To say that this is trumped-up as a political thing is laughable."

Michon referenced allegations that Loudoun County Superintendent Scott Ziegler and the school board covered up the report that a male student in a skirt allegedly assaulted a female student in a girls' bathroom – while the board was considering a controversial transgender rule. A bombshell email last week revealed that Ziegler had notified the board about the assault about a month before he publicly declared that he had no record of bathroom assaults. Prosecutors confirmed that the same young man who stands accused in that May incident also stands accused of sexual assault in an October incident in another school.

Parents have demanded the resignations of Ziegler and the board, and Youngkin has joined them in those demands.

Wayne Byard, a spokesman for Loudoun County Public Schools, told Fox News that the school district "reported the alleged sexual assault on May 28 at Stone Bridge High School to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office immediately." Byard noted that the superintendent notified the school board of the alleged assault on May 28, but because "the nature of the incident was still under investigation," the report "could not be released to the general public" at the time. The Oct. 6 incident "was reported to the Sheriff's Office immediately," as well.

"In the current politically charged atmosphere, a lot of claims and demands have been made. The focus of the superintendent and School Board remains the education of Loudoun County’s 81,000 students," Byard added.

"Any parent, regardless of our political views – Republican, Democrat, Independent – wants our kids to go to school and be safe," Michon told Fox News. "People are upset because Loudoun County covered up that they knew about sexual assaults and the question is, what else do we not know about?"

"It doesn’t feel like it’s culture war or fake outrage," he added.

"Obama is clearly clueless or intentionally misleading the crowd," Laura Zorc, director of education reform at Building Education for Students Together (BEST), told Fox News in an interview on Sunday. A parent and former school board member, Zorc has trained hundreds of parents to engage with their school boards. Her organization combats COVID-19 restrictions and critical race theory, pushing for school choice.

"Parents are fed up with politics being forced down the throats of our kids," Zorc added. "Parental rights is on the ballot in Virginia. This is not a Republican or a Democrat issue – it's a parents issue."

"Parents are craving leadership that will protect them from the wokism," she added. "Youngkin is clearly the only candidate willing to fight for parents. Obama peddling this nonsense shows he is in denial that anything is wrong."
"Parents in Virginia are very real mama bears and papa bears expressing a mighty roar for their cubs," Asra Nomani, a Virginia mother and vice president of the group Parents Defending Education, told Fox News on Sunday. "They are not some kind of circus animal doing tricks for a master of ceremonies."

"They are immigrants from China and India who care about merit education, and regular moms and dads who want to get porn out of school libraries and protect kids from sexual assault," Nomani added.

She noted that Virginia has about 1.3 million students enrolled in public schools and that the current governor, Ralph Northam, only won by just over 200,000 votes in 2017, out of 2.5 million voters.

"Virginia's mama bears and papa bears will likely decide the 2021 gubernatorial election, and politicians on both sides of the aisle would be well served by understanding the power of parents – and valuing them," Nomani concluded.

The Youngkin campaign has called for more parental involvement in their children's education, while McAuliffe has attempted to distance himself from remarks he made during a September debate. "I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach," he said at the time.

"Glenn has addressed this multiple times before Obama came to Virginia to try to bail Terry out," campaign spokesperson Macaulay Porter told Fox News on Sunday. "Although the former president’s false statements have gotten plenty of coverage, what is truly notable is the former president acknowledging there is a turning point in Virginia. That's something we all can agree on -- it is a turning point because Virginians are so tired of what Terry McAuliffe and the left liberal progressives have done to Virginia."

Progressives are always in a hurry to beat the facts getting out. “Pass the bill to find out what’s in it.”
Don’t waste time reading and researching just get out of our way because we know once it’s done it’s done.

You know they’re getting desperate if they snatched old Jug Ears away from servitude under Big Mike to campaign in a governor’s race. Guess Kamala blew it.

Breaking: Decision in Horrible Loudoun County Schools Rape Case

Quote:There’s breaking news in the horrible case of the young girl who was sexually assaulted in the Loudoun County Public School system that drew so much public attention.

A Judge ruled that the sexual assault that occurred on May 28 was “nonconsensual” and found the boy guilty on both charges that had been filed against him as to forcible sodomy and forcible fellatio by way of force, threat, or victim helplessness.

Sentencing has been continued in this matter until the second case of alleged sexual assault on a girl at a second Loudoun County school is adjudicated. At that point, the judge will consider the matter for consolidated sentencing and hear the arguments from everyone involved, including the victims in the cases.

As we reported, at a meeting in June the LCPS superintendent denied that there had been any sexual assaults. The first victim’s father was in the audience and objected to what the superintendent was saying and was arrested. That incident was then used to argue to the Biden administration that federal intervention was needed to prevent violence or things rising to the level of “domestic terrorism” in a letter from the NSBA to Joe Biden. As we also reported, the NSBA had consulted with the White House who asked for examples of violence. The NSBA has since apologized for the letter but Attorney General Merrick Garland has not retracted the call for the FBI to be involved in looking into ‘threats’ against schools or school boards, something critics believe to be an effort to chill the speech of parents objected to things like Critical Race Theory.

The boy involved identifies as “gender fluid” according to the Daily Wire, and acknowledged in court that he was wearing a skirt during the assault in the girls’ restroom at the Stone Bridge school.

The boy was transferred from Stone Bridge to Broad Run High School, despite the LCPS knowing about the first incident. Then the second incident happened at the second school.

“No one should have to endure what this family has endured, and now their focus is completely upon their daughter’s health and safety as she progresses forward with her life. She is a very smart and strong young woman, and she is deeply loved by her parents,” the attorney, Bill Stanley of The Stanley Law Group of Virginia, added. “Both Jessica and Scott Smith will continue to do everything in their power to protect her, and help her through this difficult time in her life. The Smith’s daughter is a survivor and a fighter, and we are confident that she will grow even stronger with each passing day.”

This is good news for the family who has suffered so much from this and hopefully they can feel that there is some modicum of justice now for their case and for their daughter.

The parents announced that they intended to sue the school system and also that they intended to seek a retraction from the NSBA for referencing the incident involving Smith as an example of how schools were becoming dangerous and violent.

The NSBA may have crafted an apology letter, but those pushing CRT have simply re-named it as "social emotional learning" so keep an eye out for that. They are still pushing it, assuming that those against it won't catch on to their tactics.

I hope that they sue the school and the superintendent for $1 Billion...

Terry McAuliffe Has a 'Bold Strategy, Cotton' Moment in Response to Loudoun County Scandal

Quote:I don’t know how Virginia’s coming gubernatorial race will turn out, but I do know that Terry McAuliffe has run an awful campaign. If he somehow survives, it’ll be solely due to the favorable electoral dynamics in the Northern part of the state, but man is he bad at this.

Case in point? McAuliffe has had no answer for the controversy surrounding parental opposition to school districts that have covered up sexual assault and pushed damaging ideology on children. Instead of siding with parents or at least staking out a middle ground, he proclaimed that parents shouldn’t have a say in their child’s education. He then doubled down, refusing to admit the error in order to smooth things over with voters.

But this latest example truly takes the cake for absolute tone-deafness. Another issue out of Loudoun County has been the availability of books in the library that promote pedophilia and contain pornography. McAuliffe thought it’d be a great idea to call those books “award-winning” while excusing the entire scandal.

I won’t post examples of what’s in the books in question here because I have standards when it comes to what I put in my articles, but trust me, it’s really bad, really graphic stuff. On no planet should children be given access to such garbage.

Yet, McAuliffe’s answer to the controversy is to choose to bring it up in order to defend it under the guise of racism. It’s like his political instincts don’t go any further than what leftwing Twitter can produce. You also have to love the mention of “Trumpian” there. This guy has nothing left except saying the word “Trump” over and over in a ridiculous attempt to paint Youngkin as extreme. If the latest polls are any indication, voters aren’t buying it, though.

To put a finer point on McAuliffe’s absurdity, the books that he’s defending were even deemed too “explicit” to be used in a TV ad.

The issue here that is animating this race, whether McAuliffe wants it to or not, is exactly who has the final say in raising a child. Is it the parents or is it some all-knowing, all-powerful state? McAuliffe has fully endorsed the latter, and it’s the reason he’s struggling. He should be walking away with the race. Instead, he’s tied with a Republican in a state Joe Biden won by 10 points.

And his next move in response to all that was to defend pornography in schools. As they say, “That’s a bold strategy, Cotton. Let’s see how it works out for him.”

It's not just the governors race. None of the D's, that I have seen, are running on their own platform. EVERY commercial I have seen has Trump in it. The most desperate one is saying that "Trump's" Supreme Court is days away from over turning Roe vs Wade. It looks like the D's are really getting worried about the races this time, bringing in Obama and Trump only reinforces, IMO, that they can't run on their own past actions and can not depend on the current admin to bolster their chances.

Much of the social history of the Western world over the past three decades has involved replacing what worked with what sounded good.
— Thomas Sowell

There is a reason why we have had separate boy/girl locker rooms in this country up until now. Some guys are will eff anything with a hole. At least in the guy’s locker room, there is a chance for another guy to fight off advances or other guys can be around to intervene. In the girl’s locker room the victim is a sitting duck.

Washington Post Turns to Victim Shaming of a Minor to Preserve Narrative in Loudoun County School Rape Case

Quote:As the case turns into a national story, and a problem for Terry Mcauliffe, The Washington Post turns vile.

For the sake of framing, in order to explain the problem with the behavior of The Washington Post, let us briefly look back at the media firestorm that was the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hysteria. Think back as Justice Kavanaugh was accused, when anyone dared challenge the testimony of Christine Blasey-Ford or asked for particulars and witnesses, it was called victim oppression leveled by the GOP. When a collection of other baseless accusations were trotted out, the lack of evidence was bypassed over the seriousness of the accusations. Accusers were sacrosanct, their testimonies were considered gospel, and anyone who dared question the veracity was branded as heretics.

As we are now seeing in Loudoun County, Virginia, those granite firm standards of female protections are more fluid than a Jell-O mold left on the hood of an idling Humvee in Death Valley at high noon. In this case of a female teenager who was assaulted in a bathroom at school by a classmate, there have been multiple levels of negligence. The school board has been reticent to act, the media have been forced to cover a story they wanted to bury, and gubernatorial candidate Terry Mcauliffe has been derailed by his loud support of school administrators and dismissive approach to parents.

It has become obvious how none of the usual political figures are orally assaulting microphones over this case. Notably silent are the caterwauling feminist groups. Absent is Alyssa Milano weeping her bromides of female oppression in the name of an underage victim. It is all because it has been political theater, and now at The Washington Post they have turned a complete 180 on the scripting as its latest report turns on the victim, all in order to massage the narrative because this story has become more problematic for the left.

The school board has made itself a vat of roiling controversy for some time. Blocking kids from returning to class and mask mandate ordinances were bad enough, then they had to heap on Critical Race Theory curriculums to add to the mess. Then opening bathroom mores to appease to students claiming gender dysmorphia led to the case of a teen girl being sexually assaulted. The father was arrested when he confronted the school board, and the national organization issued a letter proclaiming protesting parents to be domestic terrorists.

This has been a crap-fest, with a fecal juggler opening act and a synchronized septic swimming routine as an encore, and now The Washington Post wants to add more compost to the proceedings.

In a report on the court ruling regarding this case, writer Justin Jouvenal noted testimony from the defendant’s lawyers that the two youths in question had a history of consensual sex, but the attorney for Loudoun County said the victim would regularly turn down the requests for sex from the defendant. Then on Twitter, Jouvenal felt a need to highlight what he deems to be an important aspect of the story. He brings up the sexual history of the victim, in a way not stipulated in his article.

There is no reason to do this, other than to create doubt or confusion in the story. That this story already has a finality to it makes his inclusion of the victim’s past character all the more repulsive, coming from the self-styled “justice reporter.” The judge in the case made the ruling that is the juvenile court equivalent of a guilty verdict. The same attacker is also accused of another sexual assault of a different student at another school in the Loudoun District system, and there are questions as to why the attacker was permitted to attend classes while charged with a serious sexual crime.

These issues have placed a negative focus on the school board, for both the handling of this problematic individual as well as the new policy that may have granted the defendant leeway to use the bathrooms in this fashion, as they identify as gender-fluid. Instead, The Washington Post feels it acceptable to toss out all the prior standards of female protections and resort to victim-shaming.

This becomes an amazing revelation because for years we were lectured at loudly about the new standards and protocols regarding females and charges of sexual assault. Their words were to be heeded, their character to be protected above all else, and the severity of the charges had to be respected. To now not only see this turn but to have it occur with an underage girl is all the more unsettling. Looking over this should reveal for once that so many of these assault accusation standards are a matter of media convenience, and the lectured rules that are delivered are merely enforced politically.

Loudoun County sheriff denied superintendent’s request for SWAT team at board meeting

Quote:The sheriff of Loudoun County denied the county school superintendent’s request for a standby SWAT team, riot control unit, and undercover officers at an August school board meeting.

The county has become a hotbed of controversy in recent months, with dozens of parents protesting at school board meetings over critical race theory and revelations the superintendent and board members allowed a male student charged with sexual assault to move to a different school where he committed a second assault.

Loudoun County Sheriff Michael Chapman said in emails reported by Fox News that it was “extraordinary” that Superintendent Scott Ziegler would request a K-9 unit explosive device sweep, an on-site task force, undercover officers in the public crowd, and the sheriff office’s civil defense unit and special operations team after hiring a private security company.

The civil defense unit is the sheriff’s office riot control unit, and the special operations team is the office’s equivalent of a SWAT team.

Chapman noted the request was fairly substantial and would require at least "65 sworn deputies” and that Ziegler had failed to “provide any justification for such a manpower intensive request.” The sheriff also criticized Ziegler for telling the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office how to do their jobs.

The district had already hired armed and unarmed security at the time of Ziegler’s request, according to Chapman’s email response, and subjected anyone who entered the building to being searched.

Ziegler expressed surprise that Chapman had rebuffed his request, defending it as being similar to the resources expended by the sheriff's office at the school board's June 22 meeting. The June meeting had garnered national media attention after the father of a girl who was sexually assaulted in the bathroom of a Loudoun County high school was arrested after an altercation in which he claims a woman questioned the validity of his daughter's story.

The father, Scott Smith, can be seen on video struggling with sheriff’s deputies. He was found guilty of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
