Going back to this:
Navy +1
Memphis -5

TOs and efficiency are closely related.

Curious how the turnover prone option was working for Navy as compared to what ours is.
When I looked at their efficiency numbers they were terrible. However their terrible efficiency number rankings are more inline with their terrible total offense yards rank. These are two of my go to sites.

Thanks for the links.
The offensive efficiency numbers are actually better than I thought, given the turnovers. #35 on one and #38 on the other.
Defense efficiency is #105. Atrocious. Only 2 teams worse in the AAC - which is not known for defensive prowess.
Related yes. Closely related, I don't agree. For example Navy currently has six TOs while we're at nine. Their efficiency numbers are WAY worse than ours.
Also I think we still see the same things with how this offense looks. I made this post about past efficiency numbers. (Side note: I thought I had a third efficiency link, but couldn't remember it. Turns out it's in that post.) Last year was much worse rankings-wise with ESPN and lower in the others compared to this season. So on a positive note we have improved so far from last year. And while the TOs are on a higher pace than last year, we still had an improvement. So hopefully that helps show why I don't view TO impact the same way. And specifically for us since to me it's still more about what we are running. I feel the efficiency numbers back up what some of us are seeing because of how far off we are from what we are producing in yards gained.
Another example is SP+. Navy's offense is ranked 121st which is close to their total yard ranking. Ours is 60th.
While they would be equal in weight, I would say for example our 3-and-outs and other short drives are having a bigger impact on our efficiency than TOs.

Offense is a work in progress (young at skill positions)
Special Teams lacks confidence (new coordinator)
Defense is a catastrophe (Mike Macintyre)

I believe ST is more than a confidence thing.
Decisions are erratic and play is poor.
