i would assume it wouldn't affect them at all. NBA bubble there were only certain locations the players/coaches could go and all food was catered in

I would look at it from the stand point of reducing travel cost and limiting dealing with the different covid protocol of different states. I'm certain fans will be allowed if this comes to fruition.
My question is who are the 8 USFL teams?
They haven't announced it, but I read they had purchased all the trademarks for the following:
LA Express
Chicago Blitz
Tampa Bay Bandits
Houston Gamblers
New Jersey Generals
Birmingham Stallions
Jacksonville Bulls
Portland Breakers
...seems like awhile back I read that some other city bought the rights to the name 'Stallions', which cast doubt as to B'ham even having a team... ...but I guess that info ended up being a bit erroneous...

The USFL will own all the teams, it's all a unitary organization like the XFL

cool... will be interesting to see if this 'incubation year' will get them going for the year after into their respective cities... looks like they will (in theory) need a couple more Western teams - the old USFL had one in Phoenix and in Denver... that could work, perhaps...
It IS interesting that only B'ham and Portland are 'non-NFL' cities... San Antonio would seem to be a good candidate for the league...

What do you mean by too similar in color scheme? They're basically the original USFL color schemes and logos, slightly modernized with the 'action' style.

The Carolina Panthers basically stole the Michigan Panthers logo down to the last pixel. Their colors changed.

No announcements on coaches or players yet. League is controlled by Fox Sports, which will air games. Brian Woods is president of football operations. Fox employees Daryl Johnston, Mike Pereira and Edward Hartman among those in league office.

The Stallions logo to me looks least like the original franchise than all of them.
I like it the least.

From what I heard, they'll bubble it for a yr or 2 depending on covid, the NFL is onboard right now & eventually they'll move the teams out to their home cities bit by bit. I may go depending on players.

I don't even think the NFL signs off on these. As is, they have a completely subsidized farm system from the NCAA, why would they want to take that on themselves?
I plan on supporting the Stallions, but I think the ship may have sailed on these leagues. To me, then end game should be for them to become another outlet for high school players, where they can improve and actually make money, but NIL has effectively squashed that plan.

RE: Birmingham hosting entire USFL
The NFL doesn't really need a developmental league, especially now. And especially if the NFL expands again (very possible given they added the extra regular season game) because that would take a big chunk of potential talent pool.
So it's either be a 2nd-tier pro league (nothing wrong with that, but hard to make the money work unless you really control salaries and costs of operation) or directly compete with the NFL (virtually impossible to make the money work).
I would love to see one of these leagues stay true to the mission of becoming a viable 2nd tier league that plays entertaining football in the spring/early summer. I would love to believe there are enough football fans who'd get excited about that. But we've never seen it, so call me skeptical.

Initially. They intend to sell local ownership stakes by year 3...if they make it that far.

The NFL is expanding by four teams. That news leaked out of St. Louis by an NFL exec two weeks ago. Mainly to make the lawsuit go away...no timeline given.
Also according to BJCC officials, the NFL is "on board" with the USFL as a developmental type league. I see the USFL testing out potential rules for the NFL, much like the Atlantic League does for MLB.

It won't. This is a save money bubble, more than a virus-related bubble.
