The game with Ball State was tied at 27 going into the forth quarter, when NIU pulled away.

I had forgotten how productive Lynch was, even passing. He has 321 yards rushing against WMU, incredible.

After going 12-0, the wheels came off against BG, then the bowl loss to Utah State.

That BG game was probably the worse loss, in terms of impact to the program, in NIU history.

I try not to lament that game. BG’s defense was only giving up 15/game, 5th best in the country. Matt Johnson was the better QB(had he not got hurt in 2014 he would have won 3 MACC’s in a row). When you have the better D and QB it’s almost an assured victory.

Lynch still had crazy number that game (not crazy for Lynch, but for other QB's).
BG's offense couldn't be stopped, horrible.

I had tickets to Phoenix on hold for the Fiesta Bowl. I still lament that game.

NIU -42
BGSU - 24

We run for well over 300 yards. Two long TD passes.

I’m still convinced if JL had scrambled all fourth quarter instead of throwing 20-yard outs that fell incomplete, we would’ve come back and won…

RE: BGSU Predictions
It's MAC play, we always have some underachieving games, even when the team was known to be outstanding.
I say it's a real struggle and we look flat, but eek out a 21-20 win.

The same could be said about the Falcons. In 2002, Bowling Green was coached by Urban Meyer and defeated Missouri 51-28 and Kansas 39-16 and was 8-0 and #20 in the AP Poll. They came to play an upstart Huskies team led by Joe Novak who defeated them 26-17 on national television. I was at that game. Awesome win for the Huskies! Probably Bowling Green's greatest loss!

My wife and I attended that game. When leaving for the stadium I overheard some NIU players in the hotel lobby saying that "Jordan Lynch is upstairs in his hotel room puking his guts out". To this day I wonder if he played through a bout with the flu or some other illness. Nothing was ever said publicly about this so I guess it is unlikely but I have always wondered about it.

NIU was also short handed at WR for that game. Da'Ron Brown was out and TLL tried to pay through a hamstring issue and wasn't close to his usually self.

It was more Matt Johnson winning than NIU failing. Johnson threw for almost 400 yds, 5 tds, 0 int, and 78% completion.

-----and 8+ years later the tight end is STILL wide open down the middle of the field.

I think he just scored another touchdown.

NIU: 31
BG: 17

BG gives up 179 yards/game rushing (more than the 165 yards/game passing they give up). We will have a lot more than 179 yards rushing - approaching 300 yards - and get big chunks in the late 3rd and 4th quarter when the BG D will get gassed. I wouldn't be surprised to see several Huskies over 100 yards rushing. This will also keep the BG O on the sidelines as we dominate time of possession (again). I'm hoping to see Rocky more accurate when BG stacks the box (as they are almost certain to do). How did BG beat Minn.? Minn. only had 59 yards passing and 182 yards rushing and only scored 10 points (BG gives up 23.7 points/game), so PJ's O didn't show up.

Keep the passing simple. To the tight ends, Ratman, and the occasional long throw, like the one that set up the winning field goal against Toledo.

The O line has been great this year, I don't remember Rocky getting sacked at all.

I’m just remembering that BGSU beat Minnesota 14-10 as 30 point dogs.

Anybody watch that? How the heck did that happen?
