Speedy is by far the worst part of the game day experience for me.

There has to be somebody at UAB that thinks he's good. Whoever that is needs to be barred from any more decision making roles.

Are we a karaoke bar now? What in the rural Minnesota minor league baseball team is this? 03-lmfao

I was going to list all the college programs that do a sing-along, but I realized that you already know that. Therefore, you are deliberately being contrary. I assume you don’t want us to have our version of that, and that’s okay. I guess the karaoke bar and minor league baseball comment is your way of shaming people out of the idea?

If you prefer we don’t have a tradition like that, then take heart, you’re winning.

List the college programs that started a singing tradition with a bouncing ball karaoke gimmick. Maybe then I’ll be convinced.

Otherwise it feels cheesy/forced and honestly a bit desperate.

I don't know if they still do but I've been to Virginia Tech games where they played the lyrics to Hokie Pokie when the tubas go onto the field in the 4th.

We can see how that tradition ended up:

References to song lyrics on screen and the bouncing ball to help the audience sing together reminds me of being at the Alabama Theater as a child. Between features, kids would gather around the "Mighty Wurlitzer organ" as it rose and Stan Malotte played current popular songs for sing along while the words were on screen with bouncing ball. .If the name Malotte strikes a familiar chord, his brother Albert Hay Malotte wrote the musical arrangement usually accompanying The Lord's Prayer.
