Btw started out at -8 and at -10.5 currently.

Good game to middle bet on if you got in early enough

TOs matter. But we've been doing poorly in other areas that would have allowed us to overcome them if we weren't doing poorly. Or we shouldn't have been in a place that they mattered to begin with. Especially the games where we started out with big leads and let them come back.

Yes. It means if you bet on Memphis they must win by 11 points or more to win (if you bet the spread).

You can also bet the moneyline (ML) which means you are straight up picking a winner but the odds will be adjusted based on who is favored (if you bet the favorite you have to put up more $$$ to win less and vice versa)

Couldn't you win by 10.6 points?

By desperation do you mean a running back trying to get extra yards? Or maybe a QB getting hit as he throws the ball? Maybe a QB throwing a pass late in the 4th where there is clear pass interference but not called that leads to an interception.

Besides we play better when we are desperate as opposed to playing with a lead.

That isn't a difficult concept either.

We’ve turned the ball over and we don’t seem to get many takeaways. Not a good combo.

Good point , in reality turnovers are not good , but they are not necessarily a killer if you take the ball away from the other team more — turnover differential is the key indicator of winning or losing—.

If you turn the ball over twice and the other team turns it over 3 times then the turnovers are no big deal— if you turn it over twice and you create Zero turnovers the turnovers are killers

It's also where you turn it over. We've given short field on turnovers and we've been driving and turned it over giving up points.

We've also been in or close to the red zone and not scored. That's been a given in he past.

You can't fumble in the red zone for any reason.
You can't change arms with the ball on the two yard line.

We could very easily lose this game by 14 or more. That Triple Option is tough to defend, once it gets rolling, they can and will hold the ball for 8 or more minutes.

We have to get up on them early. If we can do that, their offense isn't built to come back quickly. Now if our defense can stop them from having a bunch of 1-play breakaway runs for scores in their effort to catch up it should be easy peasy....

Better yet, just start scoring and don't let up!

RE: Memphis -9 vs Navy
Silverfield has only defeated 3 FBS teams over 10.5 points. Those teams are Arkansas State, Temple, and Florida Atlantic. All games occurred last year. Even in 2019 when we defeated Navy at Liberty Bowl, that outcome was at 12 points.

With Memphis only having 4 days to prepare for Navy, the Midshipmen will win the T.O.P game, I do believe Navy will score 21-24 points in this game. Unfortunately, I can't see the Tigers scoring 32-35 points in this game knowing the possessions will be limited. Navy +10.5 seems a lock to me.

What concerns me is that with guys like Blake, Johnson and Russell getting so many run stops, Navy is more likely to burn us with that once-per-quarter deep pass.
We’ve seen it happen before:stop the triple option repeatedly only to give up a wide open passing TD.

Which is why, if I were going to bet on this game, I would take Navy. Because EVEN THOUGH I believe we will win, I don't think we will have enough possessions to build that kind of a lead.

That's a crazy line. I think more like a pick em.

Navy's only win was two weeks ago against UCF. Then lost last week 31-24 to ranked SMU.

Our defense will be interesting to watch. I expect a defensive player of the week type of game from JJ Russell.

Tigers win but don't cover.

that's exactly what i think about is the once per quarter pass or FB run up the middle that always gets us

I love me some Tigers, but I will never bet on a M Mac defense. He forces his players to be soft! Takes the aggression out of his players. Then he gives the opposing QB all night to destroy the 6-8 man zone. It will be brutal when the Tigers play agains a very good QB. I would not be surprised to see even Navy put up great passing numbers.

Outside of the last pass in Tulsa all of the turnovers were not on desperation plays. Goal line rb turnover, simple running plays on the wrong end of the field, QB getting hit while throwing - no desperation. Sloppy ball handling and protection.

While I think we win this one fairly easily...

By the end of the UTSA game we knew exactly what they were going to do as well...And they still ran it down our throats.
