RE: Tug Boat Toot
I get that the horn is a sponsor but it is such a high pitch horn that just irritates. Get a horn thats 1 - 2 octaves lower or run it through an effect that makes it lower in pitch. And please include a Dragon Roar. I'm fine with truck horn three times then end with a dragon roar if they need to make that sponsor happy.

Speaking of sponsors, the ribbon board needs to say GET LOUD, MAKE NOISE. FIRST DOWN, TOUCH DOWN, etc instead of just scrolling through ads the whole time. Make use of it. You can still have the ads in between key play but utilize it the way ribbon boards are for.

I wasn't able to attend the game, but that toot was annoying as hell. And embarrassing. And that just from hearing it on TV...

The school thinks it's going to grow its attendance by bringing in more casual fans. Having this annoying horn every 3rd down will hopefully get them to put down their wine & cheese for a few minutes and make some damn noise.

Having stuff like this is super common as well. Didn't Alabama have someone yell at you every 3rd down? I hate them, but I know for a fact the Patriots have something similar. These past 2 games have made it painfully apparent that people going to games need as much guidance as possible on when/what to cheer. I think it just sucked this past weekend because FAU picked up a few long 3rd downs in a row on some drives so it kept happening.

Navy has a foghorn for opponent's third downs, as well. Of course...Navy...foghorn...logical.

I like it. But I tend to tune it out after the 1st blast.

I look at it as, if it's annoying us image how it annoys the other team.

Maybe haters just need to appreciate we’re trying to make the tug boat toot our own. Gotta have some imagination to see how awesome it will be when everyone gets on board.

Just the experience on TV had the sound of a tugboat. Probably fit better in person.

RE: Tug Boat Toot
Was it just my hearing loss from the first 2 games, or did the truck horn seem a little more tolerable at the Rice game? I think they pulled the volume down a touch. I also think Speedy doesn't have as many appearances, the concessions are amazingly efficient now, and even the stadium music seems to have fit a little better. Other than the loss this week, I can't really say I had any complaints about the experience (not that any of the prior "issues" were worse than playing at LF).

Respectfully, I think everyone is more infuriated with the inexcusable loss, than to nitpick gameday experience. Maybe you are right and we did fix a lot of stuff. no matter how many injuries we have, we were a few coaching decisions, fumble, and penalties away from winning this game by 10 points or more.

I didn’t like the DJ playing music during our last few drives, especially.

100% agree. It could have been I was more focused on "WTF is happening". When we took the lead at 14-13 after only having TOP for 2 mins total, I thought we'd take control..... but, nope.

I swear they played music that I have never heard nor want to hear again. But i know I'm older and they try to play what young people want. But throw me a bone every now-and-then.
And something else I would like to see is scores from other games.
>
I will agree with the other poster that things ran much better this last game over the first two.

It wasn’t all new music or for young folks, they were also playing random songs from the 90s and 2000s that made no sense and made me scratch my head why they chose those.
One song I remember is Will Smith’s ‘Men in Black’ very random for a football team whose colors don’t include black.

Blaze entering in a chariot. There is nothing as cool as that (I can't get my photos to upload).

The motorcycle - does anything scream "redneck" more loudly? - was awful. I hated it. But now it pulls a chariot with a dragon. A chariot with a dragon! NO ONE has a Dragon Chariot. It's ours and it's unique.

And speaking of screaming "redneck," the Birmingham song is gone. This was a good move.

The foghorn or whatever the hell it is just blends into the background. From where I sit, the interstate is always visible in the background. I must have heard the horn four or five times before I realized it was for third down and not some wind shift that made a horn off the highway audible.

So. The gameday experience has improved markedly since Opening Day. Now just feed Speedy to the dragon.

The stadium's not going to fill itself. The experience is going to have to be marketed as an experience. I've no idea how to do that, but it had to start with a better experience and now we see some of that.

And we have a Dragon Chariot. I never knew we needed one.
