Just have a hunch North Texas does step it up Friday against a disinterested Marshall team.

They didn't look totally horrible against Missouri. I think North Texas beats Marshall and winds up costing the Thundering Herd bowl eligibility.

MTSU 13 at UTSA 27
ODU 21 at UTEP 28
FAU 14 at UAB 31
UTSA 52 at WKU 46

West has opened up 4-0, but the two best West teams account for three of the wins.

Next up Friday: Marshall at North Texas.

Yet to come:

Louisiana Tech at ODU
Southern Miss at MTSU
UTEP at FAU
Rice at Charlotte
WKU at Rice
UNCC at Louisiana Tech
UAB at Marshall
North Texas at FIU

And, in a game that may be as epic as UConn versus UMass:

FIU at Southern Miss.

West is definitely stronger than the East. No question.

West has a stronger top three, but their bottom four aren’t great (sorry UTEP).
East has four strong programs (though not as strong as the west), an average program in Middle and 2 softs at the bottom.
Yeap we really need the bottom four in the west standings to step it up.

Bottom four, eh? Well as one of those "bottom four" Tech plans to step it up starting this weekend. And will, if we can keep Skippy from messing it up.

I think you misunderstood me. Unt, usm, rice and UTEP are the bottom four. I think tech could win the league.

Hey man let me enjoy this brief period of success and get a few jokes in. I fully expect to lose five of the next six games.

He specifically calls out UTEP among the bottom four, so LaTech is the "strong top three" he referred to.

Oh! I looked at the current standings with UTSA, UAB, and UTEP all at 2-0 and thus "the top 3." Tech is sitting in 4th at 1-0, thus one of the "bottom 4" (currently).

East gets first win in convincing fashion. Now a break before 3 games on October 30.

Louisiana Tech at ODU

UTEP at FAU

Rice at UNCC

UNCC at Louisiana Tech
UAB at Marshall
North Texas at FIU

Bump. Edited to include the Marshall win last night.
