Exclamation Was Brandon Thomas Injured?
Noticed he did not play in the second half, had several decent carries. After experiencing two fumbles the previous week he secured the ball with both hands. I understand ball security however, this limits his explosiveness and confidence.
Maybe some of the Coaches should be benched for their coaching fumbles, seems that the losses are all caused by the players. Would like to see Coach Silverfield take more ownership of the losses instead of the obligatory it all starts with me.

He played in the second half but it seems like they want to play as many running backs as possible. He needs to get the most carried and Clark needs to get the second most. Don’t know what the fascination is with Watkins. He’s not as good as the other two imo.

Watkins doesn’t like to get hit….need Clark and Thomas running the ball

Quite honestly, there is not much this staff does that I do understand. Watkins should be a hybrid slot type receiver and not a RB. Brandon Thomas and Rodrigues Clark should be getting 80% of the carries. He penalizes RB’s for fumbling, but our QB had fumbled & turned it over more than the RB’s. I can see why kids get frustrated with this guy and sit out or transfer.

Thomas is not a threat to catch the ball out of the backfield, which limits what the offense can do and how some defenses have keyed on that when he's in the game. If he's in the backfield, not likely he's going to be a target like we saw with Pollard, Henderson, Gibson, and Gainwell. That is what really helped set our offense apart over the last few years and gives the offense more opportunities in every situation.

Thomas probably deserved to sit in the Temple game. Critical fumble in the UTSA and then it happens again against the Owls. He earned that. How long do you sit him though? That’s the question.

We don’t throw the ball to the backs out of the backfield…. regardless of who is in the backfield. We’ve only completed 20 passes to RB’s & Thomas has 5 of them…. Weaver has 7. When we pass, we throw it to 2 guys… Dykes & Austin.

I agree but of the backs you do have I would say that Thomas has the worst hands of the group. I believe I read he has the most drops on the team somewhere.
And you are right, 57% of his completions are to those two guys. I would guess his target rate for those two would have to be 65% or higher which is another reason the offense struggles.

Did Clark get hurt ? I don't think he played again after the opening series .... Gabrial Rodgers didn't play at all either ....

Clark was in a boot in third quarter, came out of locker room/medical end zone in a boot to watch the game.

Clark left during the opening series and did not return, I can only assume he got hurt but can not confirm.

The only back that has more catches than Thomas is Weaver … by ONE. Who do you want in there ?

And not enough to Dykes. He’s a mismatch for every team we play.

And Dykes wasn’t thrown to in the second half.

We need to remove this staff. Top to bottom.

It was the 4th quarter that Dykes caught a TD and the 2-point conversion. But the staff is starting to go sour on me, too.

Don't understand Dykes not getting the targets...

You have two guys who seem to be able to get open man to man...

On the staff...the season has not been great...

But take away the Freshmen mistakes and this team is undefeated...

2 Fumbles by Brandon and 2 Fumbles by Seth...Along with not having a freaking kicker. I don't think those are scheme issues

I can agree with that. We have had the luxury of a great kicker and QB. Growing pains of outscoring teams is now being challenged..
