Every AAC fan especially the Houston fans on here and the 1 Navy fan better hope Cincinnati goes undefeated for the good of the AAC or they aren’t true AAC fans.

Every AAC conference fan must hope your school throws their game vs Cincinnati to make sure the AAC has a team in the playoff.

The week 6 ESPN FPI predicted that Cincy will finish the season with 12.1 (+/- 0.8) wins, and that they have a 41.7% chance of winning the rest of the season, through the championship game.

They give Cincy a 46.4% chance of making it into the CFP playoffs.

Here's a list of the # of games the rest of the AAC is predicted to win after the week 7 games, according to the ESPN FPI:

..ESPN FPI^:........Massey~ (12 games):

Cincy: 12.1 wins..........12 wins*
UH: 10.0 wins.............11 wins*
SMU: 9.8 wins............10 wins*
UCF: 7.5 wins..............8 wins*
Memphis: 6.2 wins.......6 wins*
ECU: 5.7 wins..............5 wins
Temple: 4.5 wins..........3 wins
Tulsa: 5.0 wins.............6 wins+
USF 3.1 wins................2 wins
Tulane: 3.0 wins...........2 wins
Navy: 2.2 wins.............3 wins

If only 5 or 6 AAC teams become bowl-qualified, 2021 would be the first year since 2014 that fewer than 7 AAC teams qualified to play in a bowl game.

I wasn't sorry when Navy upset #6 Houston in 2016.
When Cincinnati shows up as Navy's Homecoming opponent in two weeks I wont be sorry if we upset them - make for some happy reunions.

You've created this "AAC fan" thing.

Let me help you....I am a Navy fan. If you need some other classification, you can call me a P6 fan, since the goals of the P6 campaign overlap a lot with Navy's strategic goals.
That might help you with your simpleton's bizarre need to put a label on things.

I actually hope UCF loses the Cincy game then runs the table. UCF has no chance at access bowl, nor even a good bowl game, so let Cincy break the barrier. I am glad to go to the B12 but want AAC to be the best it can be. The AAC has been great for UCF.

Yeah, if we lose to Navy we should just cancel the rest of the season.

If SMU is undefeated when we face Cincinnati I hope we crush them. SMU landing in the access bowl is actually a better deal for the AAC than UC landing a playoff spot. Now if I'm a UC, UCF, or UH fan I am Cincinnati all the way.

.

I’d go ahead and give ECU a “+”.
If ESPN projects them with 5.7 wins, you have to round up to a bowl eligible 6. That puts 7 teams with a strong shot at eligibility (but far from a slam dunk).

5.7 is not technically possible because ties (half wins, or 0.5) no longer happen with the OT rules.

And “moral victories” (worth 0.2) have never counted in the official stats!

Love the sentiment of the OP, but you nailed it. It would make ECU's season (or Navy's, etc.) to be the one to knock off UC. Not gonna happen though 05-nono

Unfortunately, the AAC's rankings have dropped more than any other conference compared to 2020.

At this point in 2020, the AAC was ranked close behind the PAC 12, and well ahead of the MWC. Currently, the AAC is ranked well behind the PAC 12 and just slightly ahead of the MWC.

These kinds of figures must be very jarring to the AAC presidents, commissioner, and to ESPN, particularly when they note that only one of the 8 "remainers" currently has a team in the top 50 of the Massey composite.

Looking these rankings over, it's no wonder that there have been two reports since October 1st suggesting that the AAC may be considering the addition of as many as 6 or 8 schools to the conference in the next few years.

Oh me too. Notice I’m referencing AAC conference fans. I’m an ECU fan. If anyone is going to have to win the league at ECU’s expense I hope it’s SMU as they are still going to be in the AAC.

Not much value in comparing the composite to last year when there are 12 rankings compiled at this point in the week.
