And he's not the one who missed 4 kicks.
And he's not the one who gave up those too-easy td's.
But he's the one who put that team on the field.

RE: Silverfield's contract
The kicking game management is terrible.
We don't go for 35-yard fg's, but then go for 50+ yarders.
We put the frosh out there when he's just now getting healthy, then jerk him back out to put the punter out there.
We miss friggin XP's with different kickers.
It's atrocious.
Makes me think Silverfield is one of those coaches who doesn't really put much personal time into that aspect, and simply delegates it.

We can armchair coach the game after the game but I am pretty sure they have a better grip of the game than us. If RS would have left the freshman out there, you would complain they should put Doyle in. If we used Doyle and he missed also, the you would say put someone else in. If we kick and miss, you would say we should have gone for it. If we go for it and miss, you would say kick the FG.

Silverfield loves to tout himself as an Offensive Line guy. That's his thing. So you know he's gotta be hands-on in that regard.
Yet, look at the OL play for 2 years now.

Seems they don’t know their personnel very well. New kid badly shanks a short FG and you throw him out there for a long one? You bring the other kicker in, but decide not to kick a short FG? The decision making is all over the place.

Frankly that's the problem with hiring a OL coach as a head coach. He delegates play calling, he delegates defensive sets & he delegates ST play because he doesn't consider himself expert in any of these areas. Sure he has input like going for it on 4th down but even then he delegates the plays called. He has to trust his coaches or there's mutiny. Moral is don't hire a young OL coach as the head coach.

How easily you forget last year's 8-3 record. Funny i never heard you say our staff is a train wreck or an idiot then. And if my memory serves me correctly, we:
1. Beat UCF for the first time in 13 tries
2. Won a freakin' bowl game
3. Beat Navy at Navy.
Please STFU and be a true fan or move on. We're all disappointed, but hell, be realistic. We're in a funk that will pass and we will get better for it.

RE: Silverfield's contract
I still like Silverfield and I like Kevin Johns. Defense and Special Teams, however, I am losing patience with.
Some positives: Seth Henigan is a baller and he is only going to get better. Our receivers are great. Brandon Thomas and Dreke Clark are great (did they get injured?) I liked the play calling for the most part. I love seeing Henigan throw the ball down the field. CA3 is a superstar.
Some negatives: The defense sucks. Our kicker(s) suck(s). The o-line sucks.
I think if the defense and special teams don’t get a lot better really fast, we need to be looking for new coordinators for next year.
