RE: Regionalization concept to be presented Monday
So Delaney logged on to the CSN realignment board and is getting paid how much? Had this been proposed a few years ago, CUSA likely would’ve had a partner willing to listen in the SBC. Not so much anymore!

Talk that talk, Keith!

The AAC deal will be between $2.8-$3.1M per year.

Louisiana wants to be associated with an eastern based league. Even if that puts us the western most program.

If the AAC goes to 16 by taking the best of CUSA and the Sun Belt they solidly remain the top G5. Regional realignment becomes a thing. Anything short of that and the Sun Belt is in great shape.

Regionalization won't work unless the tv deals are blown up and made equal. I don't see why any SBC would go to CUSA for that trash deal.

The one thing is that there's an x-factor in Jim Delany. He, IMO, is the best commissioner in college sports in my lifetime. Well, maybe second to Dave Gavitt. He can be pretty persuasive. I still think this is a longshot, but he might be able to broker something across leagues. He's good at consensus building. Consider: the B1G STILL makes more money than the SEC even though the SEC wins more and gets more viewership. That's the work of Delany.

CUSA is on the verge of DEFCON 1 status, and Judy has her finger on the nuclear button.
It’s being presented to only C-USA Presidents? How does that help convince the AAC and the SBC?
They want to get the CUSA Presidents all on board first. Then they can go to SBC Presidents. From what I've been told, there is little to no expectation that the AAC teams participate in this.
Most likely, IF this happens then it will happen AFTER the AAC expands this go around, and YES SBC East teams have been involved in some of these negotiations and are interested in this.

Herdfan would like to know those sources…without a link they are false!
No he’s gonna change his tune and say he knew this all along and he had to play along
I haven't changed my stance at all on this....I've never claimed to have SBC sources. I said it was MY OPINION that none of the SBC teams are serious candidates, and I still have that opinion now.

My OPINION Marshall isn’t a serious AAC candidate (despite the incredible soccer)

RE: Regionalization concept to be presented Monday
As far as I’m concerned, we are in a regional conference. Of course I’m currently sitting in the middle of my conference. I can see how the eastern teams don’t want to got to Texas, I get the Texas schools don’t want to go to Virginia or North Carolina. If it’s a regional conference just between the SBC and CUSA, I will then be on the western edge of an eastern conference or the eastern edge of a western conference, not ideal for me. If it’s all three league I’m probably still sitting in the middle of my new conference.
I’m getting realignment fatigue through all this, whatever they want to do, let’s do it and be done already. Whoever I’m in conference with I will root for my Jags and hope to win conference championships and get to bowl games. If it’s a divide down the middle, I’m still in a conference with good teams either way. It’s not like it’s a pick and choose and we get chosen last and are in a glorified FCS conference, been there, grew out of it stronger then the rest. But LET’S GO, LET’S GET THIS DONE ALREADY!!!!

RE: Regionalization concept to be presented Monday
Even if the AAC expanded to 16 I'm not so sure Marshall would get an invite.
Demographics are not in Marshall's favor. The University student population has shrank from 16,500 in the early 2000s to 12,800 today and the entire state's population is shrinking greater than any other state in the union.
That coupled with a relatively small athletic budget currently doesn't paint a rosy picture unfortunately even with all of the success they've had.
Marshall is closer in proximity to six MAC schools than it's closest CUSA schools and ODU/Middle Tennessee/WKU.
Marshall really fits in with the MAC schools the best.

Reeks of desperation.
Even the coosa fans on their board are saying it is and doomed to fail. They were paying Delaney he had to bring something. I really hope he gouged them.
