RE: ***Official Memphis @ Tulsa Game Thread*** (10/9)
First three games 2 turnovers 3-0.
Second three games 7 turnovers 0-3.

What we do have are bottom feeders who didn't want Silverfield hired, so they sat quietly, silently hoping for something like this so they can start attacking and hoping that emotions would draw more to their ranks.

Because they didn't get who they wanted they are willing to try and destroy the program from within to get rid of the guy they didn't want.

We do not have a Penny type alumni in football.

Someone who is a national icon and whose name will draw in the players.

So we can get stuck long-term with an Orlando Smith type of football coach.

That is absurd but if it makes you feel better . .

He is an over promoted lazy hire. We are paying for it.

That's a ridiculous assertion. No one who believes in the program would intentionally root against it.

Why do you have an issue with those who think it was the wrong hire? Apparently if it was up to you they'd be silenced by whatever means possible. Well done comrade. I bet you support affirmative action too.

Results matter. May I safely assume you are pleased with the results of this season so far?

And before you lump me in with those who think this was a bad hire I do too BUT I'm not willing to have him canned just yet. ANY new coach should get 3-4 years minimum unless he/she is just so bad or does something so outrageous that the only logical action would be firing them.

If he can't right the ship this season and next season is just as bad what then?

The guy who many of you get caught up in, is a troll - but not a good one.
Please do not feed the dumb trolls.

You could be right about GRIFFIN being a TROLL----but I suggest that he is just a NARCISSIST with a horrible habit of sharing private conversations on the internet-----with a % of being accurate with his predictions and statements that could only make his MINION-----STAMMERS/MOLASSES/MENSA MAN/#2 ON EVERYBODY'S LIST envious .

If he made you pay for the sharing of that info (like other sites do), would that make it more ethical for you?

Who on earth would pay for inaccurate information-----but that has zero to do with the sharing of private conversations . His information is so bad -- it's almost as if his so-called sources deliberately feed him inaccurate information knowing that he's gonna blab it all over town. ....I bet they snicker when he uses his standard line of --things changed--something changed ---over and over and over

Yall are way off on this one. Way way off. He doesn't need me to defend him

But seriously, yall are wrong on this one.

Nah, I'm not.
I wasn't talking about Griffin.
I thought the troll knew that and was himself deflecting.
But I probably gave him too much credit.

Ike must say our CUPCAKE football schedule and record isn't helping. However, IKE' believes we will move up because of a exciting brand of basketball.

I thought he was a great hire. He said all the right things, had a good pedigree, and while he'd never been a coordinator, I thought that with so much positivity surrounding him, RS was the right guy.

The part of this that's his fault is not correcting the errors in schemes that are costing us games. Of course three turnovers hurt, but Henigan's successes have been in spite of the OL, not because of it. Our Defense is #116 in the country, out of 130. We're terrible. That's not because of blown coverages or missed tackles, it's because the scheme is wrong.

I'm judging RS on what he does to fix this. So far the answer is: nothing. So far we are getting worse. But there is time to turn this around, and that's what I'm waiting for.

As to the poster calling anyone a bottom-feeder, that's hilarious irony.

I agree with this. There is a combination of bad schemes and few adjustments - that part is on the coaching staff.

Injuries (Starting QB, kicker) are part of the game and make planning more difficult for the coaches so I understand that. We are lucky we have a decent freshman QB with a head on his shoulders or things would be really grim.

Some of the defensive schemes are just flat out bad and need to be fixed yesterday. Some of the decisions on special teams and when to go for it are mind boggling.
