Would the AAC membership vote for 4 CUSA schools?
Seems some reduction on the usual AAC budget requirements would be necessary for that to happen

The AAC doesnt have much of a choice if it wants to temporarily survive. Dont worry, USM wont be one of them. Good luck with CUSA 4.0.

IDK, that's probably the most likely scenario. The other option is a combo of CUSA and Sun Belt schools.

AAC unless they could get Army or something unforeseen should add UAB given the league a $6.1M payout then wait out the PAC 12 move. Once the smoke clears the options will be clear while in the interim have private conversations with institutions that have reached out. As a matter of fact, they should require NDA's like the Big10 did when they backdoored the ACC with stealing Maryland. I don't like leaks and that very well may have hurt the AFA/CSU talks. The only problem I really have with Aresco is he's to forthright in realignment strategies. It's a cutthroat business. Go AAC!!!

I question the need for 4 at this time. UAB checks the most boxes. Buffalo probably checks almost as many boxes. Marshall and LaTech would be the only other two from CUSA that make much sense in my view. Maybe UAB+Marshall and call it a day for now. If CUSA teams are balking at the budget commitment the AAC is expecting--best move on. Do we really want to add a school thats not really all that committed to being an upwardly mobile athletic department? The reason the AAC has been successful is because every member has a budget that allows it to be successful in the league. When one program falters---another is stepping up to go on a run. Temple and SMU are good examples of this in action. Temple won the AAC in 2016 when UCF took a step back. SMU is setting themselves up to make a CCG run this year.

PAC12 moves as in their new contract and whether as part of that they take any Big12 teams.

In the Gang of 5, the schools go where the money is. Without Power Conference revenue streams Gang of 5 conferences typically pull from the next league down in some hierarchy of college football. For the Mountaiin West, that was the WAC. For the AAC, that is Conference USA.
To GaSoEagle:
The AAC's adjusted conference distribution without Cincy, Houston, and Central Florida will likely be a hit against the remaining AAC schools. Will many of the public school members of the AAC be able to offset revenue losses without making budget cuts themselves? That remains to be seen.

We might get three CUSA schools but I doubt we'd pull three. Nobody really knows about these things though and the only consistent name in this process has been UAB.

Does anybody even know which teams are in CUSA and the Sunbelt? I don’t and I’m not interested enough to try to find out.

That’s what their tv exposure has done for them.

Would we, absolutely. Will we, I doubt it. I bet we take Marshall and UAB.

Someone did a great thread a couple years ago after finding out a bunch of cool G4 stuff.
Explained why there is an "Atlantic" and an "International" team at Palm Beach-Broward State College.
Figured out what a Georgia Southern State University is.
I learned a lot.
But then I forgot most of it.

There is no rush to add 4 CUSA schools. Add 1 or 2 and let others continue to develop. Then, add more later based on need.

It’s really easy
CUSA = the conference where the conference leader beat Memphis by 3.
SBC = the conference where the team in last place lost to Memphis by 5.
