SBC = the conference where the team in last place lost to Memphis by 5.

You forgot one important detail. Arkansas State was at home while UTSA was on the road in Memphis where the Tigers hadn't lost in a few years.

If this is Aresco's plan to save the conference, then when the Presidents meet, I hope they vote to fire Aresco, invite UAB, and then adjourn the meeting.

I don't think you get it. Those six CUSA schools were named because they have verbal majority support from current AAC members. Aresco has little say in which schools the presidents of the several members of the AAC would vote for, and they certainly wouldn't be making it public if they knew any of those prospective members wouldn't have that support.
