Does the added conference revenue even come close to adding up to the significantly increased budget expenditures? I'm sorry but I was taught math before common core came along so maybe I'm missing something.

And fans of the same school complain about travel to Texas but are willingly signing up for Tulsa, New Orleans and very likely San Antonio or Houston?

...and Dallas

In terms of facilities. FAU has dumped over $100M over the last 10 years. New stadium, new athletic center, a bunch of athletic upgrades (coaching, equipment, athletic budget, etc.)

FAU is in an ideal financial situation of being able to collect and spend millions of dollars on athletics really fast. Four letters: B-O-C-A.

I agree with this. I believe it will most likely be FAU and UAB.

Only time I go to that board is to laugh at something really stupid or sad, sometimes it's the same thing. That or one of them just got their rears kicked from someone they think lower than them, and they are bellyaching. Last time I was there was a few hours after the Marshall Navy game.

Have never posted on that board and haven't posted on the MAC board since we left.

That's way I said some. They know who they are.

What would be really interesting is if schools in the AAC saw the writing on the wall and decided this "East Coast Conference" thing batted around by CUSA & SBC schools was legit and decided to embrace that concept and agree to align with those schools and form a truly solid East Coast Conference. Doubtful that'd ever happen.

It would be fun to see them do it. Imagine this setup:

Marshall
ECU
Temple
WKU
MTSU
App St
Liberty
ODU
CCU
GA State
USF
FAU
UAB
Troy

You don't know anything like the rest of us. Making some broad generalized statement doesn't take guts.

RE: Realignment speculation
It would be interesting to see if the remaining AAC schools choose, as a group, to initiate a golden parachute plan. That is, independently make their own arrangements for which conferences they're going to in 2023/2024 and not add ANYONE else to the AAC. Then when Cincy/Houston/UCF leave they collect their exit fees, spread the cash around between remaining colleges and conference administration severance packages, and say to each other, "See ya, it's been great competing against you and good luck in your next conference!"

That may be the most fiscally responsible thing to do for the current AAC schools, which of course means it will never happen.

You're right. Stay at 8 members and distribute the cash. Move forward as a small conference. I hope this is what CUSA does if we lose members. There's no need to expand.

Look the SBC doesn’t have room for everyone. Some won’t make the cut

UTSAs so called arena has to be in the bottom 5 of those schools who are IA. It's one of the most hidius things Ive seen. Tulane and UTSA would be in a run off for the worst. And well FAUs arena Ive seen better DII arenas.

Even with the loss of Cincy, UCF and Houston, with Memphis, Wichita State, SMU and Tulsa they are looking for the right basketball adds to keep them a multi-bid conference.

Definitely, basically high school gyms. I’ve been to UTSA, it didn’t even seem like a college game to me.

Not only that FAU doesn’t have much support, Good baseball program better than UTSA but South Florida doesn’t want them in the conference.
UTSA doesn’t have that factor.

Just put him on ignore and don’t quote him. He got ran off the AAC board for running his mouth. South Florida Cuban put him in his name place real quick, quite hilarious

It's not bitching. You don't know anything. If you did you'd say it here. If you were protecting real info, you wouldn't bring it up

RE: Realignment speculation
Two weeks everyone was certain that the AAC was going to pick off CSU and AFA. I don’t blame Aresco for trying but I said that it was never going to happen when the first article broke.
These sportswriters just repeat what they hear on message boards.
