Very childish tweet. That's like the 12 year old saying "I know something that is bad for you, but I'll let you know next week."

Don't say you have negative information coming, if you aren't going to say what it is.

Childish....

I would guess (hope) it's that we are not eligible for the playoffs next year...which would not really be news.

Who is this guy? Would a blogger really have a "scoop"? Or this just a guy trying to drive traffic or followers w/ sensational tweets?

It will be interesting to see what UR and W&M do. Will Elon go back to the Socon? Will W&M join them? I think the Socon is the best fit for both. UR may be left by itself as the only Virginia school in the CAA. If I am the Socon, I only accept full sports members.

The CAA is a 2 bid league going forward. Most seasons post ASU & GSU the So-Conn has had 2.

As long as the CAA has more than 10 teams, they'll get 2-3 teams in. If the CAA starts to break apart - or there is a major reshuffle in the east coast conferences - then things could change.

Every week JMU is still in the playoffs Chase posts an article "Why JMU will lose to ____". People that only look at the headline think he's just JMU bashing, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. It's very tongue in cheek.
I believe he started it the year after he picked JMU and they lost early in the playoffs. So as a "reverse the curse" theme, he would "predict" JMU losing to the next opponent.
Childish? Probably, but not everything sports related has to be serious.
I'm starting to believe that we may be too sensitive of a fan base. Lighten up.

The CAA is a 2 bid league going forward. Most seasons post ASU & GSU the So-Conn has had 2.

Depends a little bit on perception of strength and possibly the SRS/SOS scores. If Nova makes a deep run, or a team like UD or URI gets their act together, they could get more slots. But if they perform like this season, they might be lucky to get 2. I tend to agree with BDK on the SoCon precedent. When there are fewer high ranked teams on the schedule, it works against that conference.

On the question of UR and WM, i've seen a few posters on their boards talking about Patriot. Patriot or SoCon would not surprise me. I'm not sure either school wants to put more money into football. Of course, outside of UD, most of the CAA does not show signs of ambition either. UD has made some serious investments, but has had poor results and the fan base has been badly damaged the past 10 years.

An interesting read on how frustrated Towson fans are, some want to pull the plug on football: http://www.towsonfans.com/index.php?/top...the-point/

Towson has invested in football and basketball facilities. I really thought that investment would allow them to move up the FCS ranks. They did make it to the finals one year but have done mostly nothing since. I like their stadium. Tailgating there has been fun too.

Hoping to have a rematch with you guys in the Fargodome one last time...really sucks that you guys are going FBS (and we aren't)...was bad enough with Georgia Southern and App St left...

I saw on your board and elsewhere that MWC may still be in the cards for you Canucks and also CUSA.

I consider JMU and NDSU rivals already. Frisco will be a ghost town without one or both of us. I would love for you all to move up and we schedule OOC games against one another regularly.
I do as well. It was nice to have another fan base that traveled extremely well. Our teams were good for FCS football...forcing other teams to up their level of play. Sam Houston seems to have finally figured out the formula...but they still don't draw a lot of fans.

Our attendance has been significantly down this year, how about you guys?

As far as FBS...the MWC does not appear to have any interest in us. I don't know about CUSA...but I haven't heard of any interest in us...and tbh I don't know if our leadership has any interest in it. I've loved our time in FCS, but it diminished with GSU and App St leaving, and now with you and Sam Houston leaving, I don't know what is left. If Montana and Montana St keep getting back to better football there will be that...but overall FCS is just depleted.

Attendance was actually pretty decent for us this year. We had a sellout (or two?). There were definitely years where crowds were going down, but this year wasn't one of them.
I expect turnout for the playoffs to be a bit higher than it usually is, especially with this being our last one.

Citation please. Other than an expected dip between year one of the new BFS opening, I believe you’re wrong in stating “years” of regular season attendance “going down.”

I do think we'll push back up to 25k with an FBS slate of games and it will look like 2011 again. Some games will be a tough ticket to get. We averaged over 21k this year for much less desirable games.

The Breeze article counts attendance with the playoffs included. That attendance figure is misleading. If you look at regular season attendance the numbers are steady, and after the opening of the new BFS, show an increase year over year.

Typical inaccurate nonsense from the Breeze.

Agreed.

Chase is a national media writer and does a bunch of big time gambling podcasts as well He does MGM's - plus he roots fer the Dukes. He's just trying to tease the return of his super popular "Doomed Dukes" articles that always get old fogies who aren't paying attention on facebook and get actually mad at him. I know that's not what's happening here - but he's not actually withholding info - he's just teasing his article.
