Toledo is not the offensive power of years past. Throw out the 2 trouncing of FCS teams(umass is fbs but not even fcs quality) and they’re averaging about 19pts a game. Toledo’s defense is solid but we can run on them. They don’t hold teams to under their rush yds/game average and they haven’t faced a rushing team( ND only runs 80/game. CSU was best running team at 159/game and Toledo surrendered 211yds). NIU is averaging 220/game. No diverse offense this week. Lots of Brown and Ratdog with some Lombardi keepers.

I have no idea what defense for NIU will show up. But I’ll go with last weeks:

24-21 NIU

UMass vs EMU:
Rushing:
209 yds 6.1yds average 2 TDs
UMass vs Toledo;
Rushing:
23 yds .9 yds average 1 TD

That’s cherry picking. Umass is ranked 190 in sagarin(which is a wack rating system but even so- 190!) EMU is 113th vs the rush. This says more about how bad Umass and EMU are than anything about Toledo. I tend to throw out stats gained against FCS teams or FBS teams ranked 130+. I’d look at how you guys did vs ball state and CSU. That’s the best measure going forward for MAC play.

So how did the Huskies do against EMU?

Decent. 242 yards rushing done mostly to milk the clock. Had a quick 17-0 lead and all but abandoned the pass. EMU had 3 quarters of knowing NIU was going to run nearly every play and still didn’t stop it.

RE: Official NIU-Toledo predictions!!!!!!
Toledo has played an easy schedule. Except for Notre Dame, who was pretty overrated anyway, they haven’t played anyone.

FCS
UMass (worse than many FCS schools)
Colorado St (who was winless at the time and only win is vs. Toledo)
Ball State (who has sucked majorly and their offense has been bad)

Glad we beat EMU without playing em.

Yes our schedule sucks. We knew it would. 7 win minumum schedule (counting beating 0-6 NIU on HC.)

CSU has a decent defense and played Iowa the toughest of anyone..Got up quick on Vandy and let em come back with 3 missed FGs. Made all 5 vs. us. They havent played a MWC team. They could go 4-8 or 7-5. Who knows. Norfolk isnt good. UMass isnt good. Ball State could be okay... beating Army was a good win. ND is a 9-3 type team. We win without the penalties.

For some reason I thought you guys had played two MAC games already. My bad.

The easy schedule point is still valid. I wouldn't get too high on a defense that has only played one good team.

Maybe. But ive seen enough Toledo football to KNOW this is the best defense since 2015. 4 possible NFL guys... especially against an offense ranking in the bottom 40 like NIUs.

Our offense ranks where it does because we've played undefeated Michigan (better than Notre Dame), Wyoming, Georgia Tech, and EMU. The only FBS team we've played with a losing record is 2-3 Georgia Tech which has lost to Pitt, Clemson, and us.

Did you alSo KNOW that of all your FBS opponents outside of UMASS your defense surrendered the most rushing yards of their seasons? You statistically have the worst rush defense CSU, BSU and ND have faced this year. On top of that you gave up 147 yds on the ground to Norfolk State. NIU’s strength will be going right into Toledo’s weakness. Those 4 NFLers must be cornerbacks.

We shut em all down on the ground for the most part. Like i said. 3.1 ypc. All of those teams we had to respect the pass. Norfolk was more successful against Wake Forest compared to us. Yall cant pass, so we are gona stack the box. We are in the top 20 in tackles for loss too. 11 qtrs in a row from the 4th of ND, with no offensive TDs scored against us until the 4th vs. UMass with our back ups in.

Colorado state is ranked #72 in rush offense (averages 3.74 ypc)

Notre Dame is ranked #124 in rush offense (averages 2.4 ypc)

Ball State is ranked #108 in rush offense (averages 3.34 ypc)

UMass is ranked #123 in rush offense (averages 3 ypc)

None of these are strong rushing offenses.

You held CSU, BSU and ND to 3.8 ypc. Do you know what those teams avg ypc is on the season? Collectively it’s 3.2 ypc. You were more than a half yard WORSE than the other defenses they’ve faced so far. You played horrible, just horrible rushing offenses.

NIU to cover is FREE money.

This is basically a 50/50 game.

NIU has a great chance to win outright (significantly better than the “computers” at espn say) but there is no fooking way they don’t cover that laughable 12.5pt spread.

On a side note: those same computers at espn are the ones used to calculate recruiting classes and preseason Conference Champions.

RE: Official NIU-Toledo predictions!!!!!!
First a few in-game predictions:
- A. Brown will do well, but he'll cough it up once or twice. That will cause us to over rely on Rat, and Collins gets some reps too.
- Hammock will limit Rocky's throwing, to avoid INTs. He'll get 15 maybe 20 tops throws. Look for alot of punts.
- Turds will come out lazy thinking every team is UMass level, NIU jumps on them early, we go up 14.
- Big swings in the game, lead changes hands 3-4 times.

NIU 31 Our friends from Ohio 30.

This NIU team has been more exciting than I imagined after going winless last year but they aren’t ready to knock off Toledo. Just hoping there’s 3 more wins out there to get to a bowl game.

I’m sorry but unless your defense really sucks, Toledo is not scoring 38 points. Especially if Bradley is QB most of the game

RE: Official NIU-Toledo predictions!!!!!!
The mental gymnastics it takes to call EMU a good team, when they gave up 1 more point to UMass than NIU. If EMU is the base team to compare I like our chances at home.

The whatever 0.6 ypc more vs. the average is cool. Glad games are won by points. Didnt Ball State face some good squads?Penn State, Wyoming, Army? Why we hold them to 12? CSU had a punt return on us but scored 14 offensive points on Iowa and 15 on us (5x5 FGs). UMass scored 28 on EMU and BC. 7 on us. ND has played a bunch of teams the exact same because their Oline is a problem. Im fine with a loss there. The reason this game is close by the metrix is our offense has struggled, not the D. No way this game gets in the 30s. If Toledo loses it will be one way, and one way only. Exactly like CSU. Bunch of special teams and fg points with our Oline getting stuffed up with the run.
