Blood is in the water - I think App State is feeling good about their chances, and Louisiana may be a bit nervous. I expect a hell of game though.

Have you read the App message boards? They think the same thing about App. If we don’t start the game up 21 and finish up by 50, we suck.

Not much intelligence on the MMB.

Cajuns, how involved is Delhomme with the program now?

Very much involved he is at almost every event and on the RCAF board

He lives about 15 minutes from campus. I talk to him a lot at the Horse Races since he owns a bunch that race around the area.

I've been listening to Panthers Radio Broadcasts instead of watching TV just to listen to Jake. I don't think I really respected what he was able to do while in Carolina as he was sort of that throw back kind of guy to the 80's style gunslinger. I really like him as a person and think it would be great if App and Louisiana could partner to bring him up to the game in 2022 or to the Championship game should it be in Boone.

Also, where can I find Billy Napier Press Conferences? Nearly every school has them available on YouTube but I can't find anything for Louisiana or Napier.

Ok Cajuns, what’s the biggest difference between ‘20 and ‘21? Is it the loss of your stud RB’s and all-conference OL or do you attribute it more to staff losses like OL coach heading to the NFL? Based on what I’ve seen in the couple games I watched, I lean more towards the OL coach moving on as the RB room looks reloaded.

OL coaching losses. We lost Rob Sale as OC/OL coach and DJ Looney, who was the actual OL coached passed away from a heart attack at 31. Those two were huge losses.

IMO what we are seeing is the Napier offense with a QB (Lewis) who is limited and can’t consistently execute everything Napier would like to do. But, when the play calling is to Levi’s strengths we get rolling on offense and we are hard to stop. Napier just hasn’t been able to stay within that sweet spot of play calling. I completely understand why he does what he does, the stuff he is trying to do is there, Lewis just has trouble executing certain parts of it.

Our defense is extremely good when we are fresh. But we’ve averaged 5:30 minutes less TOP than our opponents and it shows late in games. App’s receivers scare me. Not necessarily as a deep threat, but they always create space to catch passes even when they aren’t “open”. Hennigan is one of the best at that.

I don’t trust Lewis in games where we need him to win it for us.

This 100%! The loss of Rob Sale/DJ was a blow. We also have 4 OL on the two deep out…that’s a problem.

Our second half adjustments have been awful this year too.

We might have the best defense in the SBC. Those guys are legit.

I’ve noticed Levi not looking as comfortable this year as compared to last. OL play is so crucial, I was a bit worried about App coming into the season after losing some multi year starters and hiring a 1st time OL coach. They aren’t perfect but I’ve been pleasantly surprised with their production and protection.

So is this game the one that’s finally big enough, that Napier pulls Levi if it isn’t going well?

I just don’t see it happening.

With that said, Levi does do well when the lights are bright.

App has been a second half team. Even Marshall was an example of that even though the third quarter went poorly because of two turnovers.

If you have ESPN+ you can go back and watch the USA and Georgia Southern games. The Georgia Southern - Louisiana game is actually on YouTube. So go watch for yourself.

I don't take much from it because Napier's brand of ball keeps games close more often than not. 9-1 in games decided by one possession since the start of 2020.

Highly doubtful. In the long run IMHO we would be better with Fields or Wooldridge. Both would open up the passing game so much more.

Careful what you guys wish for. Lewis is going to leave Louisiana with the most career wins and touchdown passes. Perhaps guys are open earlier in their routes than what I've seen but Lewis is literally the CFB version of Russell Wilson and it's frustrating as a fan of the opposing team.

I'd imagine that the guy App has running scout team is faster than Lewis but I doubt he has the arm to really simulate the type of throws he can make (otherwise he would be playing QB somewhere).

Where can I find Billy Napier's Press Conferences? Can't find them on the Louisiana website, Twitter, or YouTube.

If Malik Williams were a sophomore he’d be a great Lewis scout team QB.

I’ve heard that we are no longer doing Coaches shows. But there is a Ragin Cajuns YouTube Channel. I think they post them there

Marshall trails a terrible ODU team at the half. I thought that was a quality win for App, but that’s looking weaker by the week. What happened to the team that played mistake free in Boone two weeks ago?
