Seriously. Longer games due to rule changes (more plays = more points).
Coaches using all of their timeouts in the first half leads to more late scores. OT points probably add 2 points per game over a season. Then without a doubt passing attacks are so much more complex which must contribute.

Good points, Burden. In today's game I don't expect the Kent State defense, though improved, to shut any FBS team down. By that I mean hold them to 14 points or less. But I have high hopes that they can flat out-score anyone in the MAC.

So how does Cephas's eligibility work. He played three games as a freshman in 2019. Then last year was a free year for everyone? So does he technically have 3 years of eligibility left after this year?

If I understand the 4-game rule completely, he would 3 years after this one.

RE: Week 6: Buffalo
24 hours after the game here's my thoughts. He's trying to establish the pass game, but need some more variety. Pass right, pass left won't fool many defenses all year.
I called the interception in the 4th. (I have witnesses.)
The pass interference called on us in the 4th I agree with, but he got away with it in the 1st quarter. He rolled the dice the second time and got caught.
With that, the defense needs a complete game. I get Buffalo adjusted in the locker room, but we waited long enough before bouncing back.
The MGF playing Stairway... Wow.
3rd week in a row; bring back Jeff Kurtz. Saying it was a first down when it was 2nd & 1, come on. Is anyone in the wine and cheese box even listening?
Whew, we really needed this win. Three weeks with guarantee losses are hard to come back from. Losing Buffalo would have made it hard for us to get to 6. We can nab OU & Akron. The Michigan schools aren't an easy sweep anymore and we didn't draw EMU this year. Aside from that, maybe NIU &/or Miami??

Saw from Allen of Moff of Record Courier, this was the first time Kent State has started 2-0 in MAC play 3 years in a row since MAC play began. Unprecedented times in Portage County.

Sean Lewis also passed his predecessor with 15 wins
(35 games compared to 59 games)
