Hopefully the weather holds and there isn’t much rain. I’m taking my yearly trip up to Kent for the game and would love to see the team put together a complete game vs a very beatable Buffalo team.

Surprised it wasn’t a “Blue Out” with us in all white and Buffalo wearing all blue…LOL! Hope to see the crowd come out again, but with it being a night game the students that are on campus will probably all be 1/2 sloshed at that point and looking to go out, not to a game. Also hope to see Crum getting the passing game going this week.

We will also have visiting marching bands there. Hopefully Athletics has gold shirts for all of them too.

I like the fact the students were wearing all white, but it didn't look like Kent's band was wearing white, hopefully they can be wearing gold for this weekend. Again seeing the entire student section (minus band) is a huge step in the right direction.

Those uniforms cost too much money to toss on the ground and put on a tee-shirt. The high school students can put their unis back on the busses.

RE: Week 6: Buffalo
Looking at our schedule this is a must-win game. Those money games put us behind on gaining bowl-eligibility. Aside from Akron & OU we have a tough MAC schedule. WMU beat a good Pitt team, NIU is always tough and a weeknight game (crappy attendance and weather), CMU on the road and a short week, then Miami. I don't know much about Miami. Looks like a Thanksgiving weekend home game; empty stadium.
Half-way though and I'll call it: This schedule sucks. I almost wonder if Joel made it so we don't go to a bowl game which costs money.
One last thing, WIN SATURDAY.

We are picked to win the MAC East. If we don't become bowl eligible, it's on the coaches and players, not the AD who isn't here any more. SMH.

It seems that Kent will be wearing gold on the field for the gold out.

AlphaFlash, weekday games suck, night games suck, Thanksgiving weekend games suck, and games played at roughly the same time as an Ohio State game suck.

It doesn’t leave us too many games that don’t suck. If we were a Big 10 school, a SEC school etc. none of this would matter. Oh well.

When you look at it that way, we probably need to win 5 out of the 7 next games to go bowling.

I'm watching the BG-Akron game and four straight drives ended in turnovers. Akron fumble, BG turnover on downs on the Akron 1, Akron interception, and then a BG interception. This game is hard to watch.

RE: Week 6: Buffalo
My hope for today is that we open up the passing game. Lewis has always liked to run the ball a lot, but this has been his most lopsided team. Right now we're averaging 50.2 rushes per game vs. 26.6 passes per game. That's the highest number of rushing attempts per game in the Lewis era and the lowest number of passing attempts. We're also averaging our lowest passing yards per game since he took over (188.2). Obviously, you'd assume that this will start to change now that we're done with the money games but that trend continued last week with 56 rushing attempts to 28 passes against BG. I really think we need get a more balanced ratio to realize our potential. It really doesn't make a lot of sense that we're not throwing more, considering Crum should be one of the top QB's in the MAC. Not to mention we really only lost one receiver from last year, and we brought in a couple receivers with high major experience.
My fear is that this trend is a reflection of the coaching staff feeling we don't have the skill at the receiver position to rely on it. 5 games into the season we only have 3 players with more than 3 receptions. Normally Lewis teams spread it around a lot more than that. Guys like Poke and Vance who were big parts of the passing game last year have seemingly disappeared and we haven't really seen anyone taking a step forward. Williams, Wooden and Floriea were some names I was watching for someone who might take a step forward this year, and so far none have done much of anything. Then there's the Syracuse TE Hackett who has 1 catch for 5 yards. I'm really hoping we start seeing us throw it a little more and some of these guys stepping up. Otherwise I think we're in for a disappointing second half of the season.

Crum felt more like a 2012 Spencer Keith game manager role in last week's game. But hey if it leads to an 8-0 conference record, I'm all for it.

Right Burden, none of that would matter then.
Anti-Zip, and the Maryland game, too. And, A&M dropped two since the KSU game, indicating that their preseason talk about being a potential SEC winner was, in fact, just hype. It will be interesting to see what they can do against Bama. Iowa has been solid, but we'll have to see what they do against Penn St. today. VMI has been winning some.
