The RedHawks are 2-3 after a tough start to their schedule but are coming off a win over Central Michigan. If they can get around .500, he probably will be safe, but he’s been here awhile, and some folks around there may be tempted for some change. Temperature check: Not that warm.

Thomas Hammock, Northern Illinois: The former NIU running back was 5-13 in his first two seasons at a place that has had a lot of success. He is off to a decent start this season, though, with a nice road win at Georgia Tech and beating Eastern Michigan, which was 3-1, to go to 3-2. NIU is one of the better jobs in the MAC with good resources. Temperature check: Warm, but cooling off.

Tim Albin, Ohio: He took over for Frank Solich right before the season and is 1-4 at a place with some of the best resources in the MAC. If there’s more of a feeling that this program is backsliding, they’ll likely find someone else. The Bobcats did whip Akron last week, so maybe they can get some momentum from here. Temperature check: Pretty warm.

Hammock's seat is only warm because he's sitting in it. Everyone knows he's going nowhere until 1) he gets an offer he wants at another school (0% chance of that happening this year), 2) he retires, or 3) his contract runs out and it's not renewed.

By the way…did this guy even bother to glance at rosters? This isn’t an old team…it’s a bunch of kids. This team was not built with transfers, these are kids who are growing. I know 2 Google searches is generally too many for the media…but dang.

Hammock is definitely not on a hot seat. He’s the rebuild of Huskie Football ie Joe Novak’s number 1 protege.

This is a piece of garbage as far as NIU is concerned. Hammock is not on the hot seat at all and our resources are very poor.

Our endzone and indoor practice facilities are solid, assuming this is what he meant?

Our end zone facility was built on the cheap and the last major projects we've done. That was basically juust enough to get us to a point where most schools already were. There are many other G5 programs that have $20-30 million end zone facilities that are much nicer.
