The Grizzlies consider Melton as a potential backup to Ja, and it is the main reason Tyus Jones is trade bait. Bane was great last season but we traded away two 3pt threats, and did not pick one up.

You don't have to be a pure PG to give Ja a breather and there are some players we are going to have to trade or let walk.

The only way our 3pt shooting improves this season is if JJJ stays healthy and is on fire, because Adams isn't going to stretch the floor like Jonas could. Ja might become a improved 3pt shooter.

Where we may be improved is defensively. Hopefully DB is not hurt for long and Adams is better defensively than Jonas. The lack of shooters and scoring is going to be our achilles heel this season and in the foreseeable future until we address it. That is not a knock on our players, and it is a fact.

Traded away 2 3-point threats? Yes, Allen, but Jonas' 3-point shooting is such a minimal factor. He averaged 0.9 attempts per game and made 36.8% of them. He makes 1 three pointer every 3 games. That's not a threat. Dieng was more of a threat than Jonas. And as far as Allen, all of his time will now be replaced with Bane and Melton. Melton and Bane both had higher 3pt% than Allen last year, so without Allen, we could easily get better. Not to mention if Clarke can shake that horrid shooting from last season and go back to how he did his rookie season, and then if Jaren stays healthy, our 3 point shooting could make it into the upper half of the league.

You do realize a shooter doesn't have to actually shoot the 3 top be a threat from 3 and spread the floor? Yes Jonas was a threat from 3. If you aren't on the floor, then you aren't a threat, so no, Dieng was not more of a threat than Jonas, nor is Adams.

We are not a great 3 point shooting team, not even close. It is unrealistic to believe that our 3pt shooting has improved from last season. JJJ if he is healthy should help neutralize our losses. That said, ill take the under on the Grizzlies. 40.5 may be close, but we will not be a legitimate playoff team until we address our outside shooting issues.

Another year in Jenkins system, Bane being in year two and JJJ being back should put them in the top 15 in 3 point shooting

The answer may be the 15th spot on the Grizzlies roster, 6'4" guard Sam Merrill, who hit 8 3's the other night at Indiana. He was a throw in from Milwaukee in the offseason trade. Hopefully the Grizz keep him as the last cuts haven't been announced yet. Could be our best off the bench sniper since Troy Daniels. Jaren Jackson hit 7 3's last night in Chicago.

We are fine with Jaren, Melton and Bane
