Guessing that means bye-bye to Brown's redshirt. Which is not a problem when it is because he is going to be used extensively. Only time I dislike burning a redshirt is if it is for a couple plays here and there. Besides, after seeing Brown play, he could very well develop into NFL material and not be around college for 5 years anyways... Best wishes to Waylee in his recovery!

Waylee is awesome, hope that's not true. Fingers crossed he's not badly injured...

That really sucks for Waylee if it’s true. Full recovery and better than ever next year Harrison.

If Ducker is back to being healthy I would consider using him as Waylee and keeping RatDog at the role he is used to…that is of course if you are concerned about Brown’s redshirt.

I am not however - I would use Brown as Waylee and keep RatDog in his normal role. Of course I would use Ducker as well, so brown isn’t taking a pounding.

It was bound to happen. They weren't distributing carries to any other players besides Rat Dog, and Waylee is not big enough to carry the ball 25-30 times per game and take that kind of beating.

Not necessarily. Ducker has been listed as the backup and it’s looking more and more like he was the guy Hammock referenced about getting back. Also, on Inside Huskie Football when talking about AB’s great performance vs EMU, Hammock mentioned that as good as AB looks this early in his career that “some” (I’m guessing the RB Coach whose name escapes me) think there may be someone better in the room. Again, signs point to this being Ducker.

Selfishly, I would love for Ducker to be healthy and step into the starting role and allow AB to get into three (and just three) more games this season as to preserve his redshirt. I believe Ducker has already used his redshirt year during his first injury-plagued year.

Last year was the covid, does not count, so I believe Ducker still has a redshirt

Of course, total brain fart. I was thinking that Ducker came in the recruiting class before that one.

So AB gets three more games and Ducker another four. That would take us to the end of the regular season. Then the decision is which redshirt do you burn for the MACC and the Bowl. COGS

I’m kidding. I’m pretty sure that Ducker has already played in at least one game this season so he has at most three more games himself. Unless Collins or some other RB takes a game or two, at least one of AB/Ducker will lose their redshirt.

To your point….Eddie Carifio tweet:

“Couple notes from the depth chart: Daveren Rayner, Cole Tucker, Mohammed Toure, Jay Ducker not on it. All didn't play Saturday. Harrison Waylee is.”

Never said it was substantiated. We know he was in a sling. Also, limiting his Carrie's because he might get hurt is stupid. If he is the best and homerun hitter, you want ball in his hands. Spann wasn't big neither was Wolfe. He might be durable or might not but I want him on the field because he can break big runs.

Hammock mentioned next man up in his presser but didn’t say he’s out for the year or anything.

It would really suck if he got hurt in the 5th game and missed the rest of the year. Horrid luck that it would happen right after he passes the redshirt cutoff.

I have to look at the rules again, but wouldn’t he qualify for a medical redshirt?

I thought that was 60% or something…but that might have been a while ago.

I find it hard to believe playing 5 of 12 games would qualify for a medical redshirt but I’ve been wrong before.

Although they are a little more loose with those if you haven’t already redshirted.

The NCAA threshold for injury redshirts is you can’t have played in more than 30% of the season and the injury must have occurred in the first half of the season.

Not having Cole Tucker out there doesn’t help Rockys passing.

Whenever someone mentions medical redshirt it reminds me of Anthony Maddie got totally screwed. Our 5-7 season would’ve taken such a dramatic turn had Maddie been our starter instead of Santa/Childers…
