Great Win!
Great win despite a lot of adversity today with the weather delay and multiple injuries. That EMU team is a very solid, well-coached team. Hats off to the guys for stepping up and making plays. Thought the O line played great plowing the way for a huge rushing attack today. That’s who we are as a team. Props to Brown for stepping up when Waylee went down . Props for Rat dog for getting the hard yards. Props to the DEFENSE for a much improved performance and some newer guys making big time plays.
Let’s keep the momentum going here.
THE HARD WAY.

Well said. EMU is not the doormat they used to be. When you put a young team on the field and they haven't yet played a complete game at their best, but you are still winning, it is a great thing! Huge step forward for the defense, and in particular the defensive line today.

That EMU team had just come off of scoring over 100 total points the previous two games. We held them to 20 points. Not too shabby.

Exactly. This is not the Eastern Michigan that most of us remember. They’ve been a darn good/tough team for the past several seasons. Regardless, we are seeing real improvement from this squad and it’s exciting. Trust the process.

Great job by the O line. They were the difference today, and it’s been some time since we uttered those words. They are big, physical and fun to watch.
Anterio Brown, holy smokes. He looks so much like a young Michael Turner to me. Great job getting tough yards and protecting the football. He and Waylee will be a nightmare for defenses.
That reversal of EMU’s fourth down completion with about eight minutes left was huge. Probably the right call but I wasn’t sure they would have the guts to make it.

Good win. W at Toledo next Saturday would be a great win for this young team.
So still trying to figure out the O.
We have a QB that was 9 of 20 and Waylee and Brown combined for around 200 yards and a YPC OF 6.

These are not the EMU teams of years ago.
They aren't great but they aren't doormats either.

I agree.
You've got a young team who is winning while learning and experiencing. That is such a positive.
I'm still convinced Hammock is focused on 2022 and is using 2021 to teach and build his team and focus on the guys he's pegging as his guys going forward.
If they win this year, its a bonus and not one he's going to avoid but not something he's going to go after at all costs.

Care to expound?
Or are you just going to lob that and think it's sufficient?

Eh, Creighton has a MAC record of 18-37, and his team was flat and totally unprepared (down 17-0 in the blink of an eye) in one of the biggest games in his tenure. I think that’s enough.

Fair enough.
He took over one of the worst FBS program in the country and one that was an absolute doormat for decades before his arrival. I mean, anyone could have taken a perennial doormat to 3 bowl games.
So, yeah. Fair evaluation to look solely at his record since he took over (and for the record, after his first two seasons...he's exactly .500 in win percentage which isn't stellar but a huge improvement with the program considering his predecessors).

Great win for the program and Hammock! Getting back to HUSKIE FB. Amazing when Oline comes together everyone looks good, the backs, the OC.

100% Agree.
#54 is starting to flash as a rusher, needs a little more direction but is quick. Our DT..Ester playing well. Most underrated player so far this year? #32 Bostad is having a great year as a blocking back.

Agreed on Bostad, he's playing great. I love how he pancaked his guy on Rat's TD and then picked him up.
On re-watching the onside kick, I feel like the offsides call was ticky tack. The guy's toes MAY have been across the line, that's a tough call for EMU. We caught a huge break there.

They would’ve marched right down the field and went for 2… Would’ve crushed us. We’ve had some major breaks this year.

This kid deserves his own thread. Really. The difference was night and day when he came in. He sees holes. He is quick. He has good instincts. He sees the hole. If it's not there, he makes the quick decision (maybe once too quick, but I'll take it) to look elsewhere. and he ends the run by delivering a blow. Oh, and he looks to gain every possible foot. And I hear that he has speed. Oh my! He reminded me a bit of Chad Spahn in that he runs with real desire and determination. I LOVED what I saw and want to see more of it.
