Cut your losses and go get Freeze

Porter won three games in two years and HAD to go. No one faults firing someone like that from any program.
You don't fire someone with Silverfield's record after two seasons. Period.
Do it though, and you will have the Fuentes of the world second guessing the job offer.
Memphis is in a very unique position. We have to prove our football program is capable of maintaining momentum regardless of the coaching change and cannot afford a significant drop off. I can’t think of another program in our situation. Boise has proven to be a viable brand. USF was but lost momentum and is now on the outside looking in. What other program has as much to lose & its riding on the shoulders of a rookie head coach. It’s not fair to Ryan but he has to win and it has to be now… the future of Memphis athletics is riding on it.
I think Penny is in the same boat.
Yeah, but with the talent Penny has this year he could be at Pastner level coaching incompetence and still make the NCAA tournament.
PASTNER ? Is that the guy that actually took us to our last few tournaments --and that won a GLOBAL championship ---that guy
No, not that guy. I said Pastner.

If you listed the most stupid things we could do to try and get into the Big 12; hiring Freeze would be the most stupid. We have an ambassador telling us that our pending case with the IARP is an issue and a bad look.
Some of our fans have lost their minds; if they even had one to begin with.
The IARP didnt just pop up in the last few weeks. If its a problem now, wouldnt it have been one back when we were 2nd on everyone's list?
That was the excuse that was given to Griffin by his sources.
LOL my idol my idol is never wrong ---something changed ---just like 5 years ago--- always ---it's something changed
Typical communist, crying like a baby if tickets go up $5 for the one game he attends, who thinks an 80,000 seat stadium is a good idea, who can't copy and paste, with reading and writing skills of an 8 year old, mocking someone who has given at least 500k to the program, who has Veatch and Rudd on speed dial.
Classic Jethro.

-80,000 was sarcasm but you know that
-I cant copy and paste
-come on now ...11 year old
-Rudd has been dealing with expansion for 5 years ----and 2 weeks after we were not #2 on everybodys list only behind Cindy ---it finally dawns on him to announce support for a OCS----he was only covering his azz for not having us ready---because he knows a lack of an OCS had ZERO to do with the reason we were not #2 on everybody's list only behind Cindy-------and if it was the reason we were not #2 on everyone's list only behind Cincinnati -----and he never thought ---man maybe I need to make a statement MONTHS AGO--he is not very bright----and if it was the reason we were not #2 on everybodys list only behind Cindy---and he didn't know that might be a problem--again he is not very bright-----He should have started 5 years ago touting an OCS

Brad Martin came in and laid out a plan for the university before Rudd was hired. Still serves as VP of the Board of Trustees. I remember when he was asked about an OCS back then. He chuckled at the very idea, and said the Liberty Bowl is only two miles away (something like that). His response had a “does anyone have a serious question?” feel to it. I’ve wanted an OCS for forty years, but after that I totally stopped thinking about it until these recent discussions.
We don’t know what Rudd has discussed with the board. He may have been told it’s not open for discussion. Simple as that. Or maybe he dropped the ball, as you said. But to say he didn’t know it may be a problem, after being in these discussions for years, c’mon.

I said---THAT IF --it was the reason we were not #2 on everybodys list only behind Cindy----and he KNEW THAT IT MIGHT BE A PROBLEM---WHY WAIT until we were left behind to start touting OCS---he should have started the OCS hype MONTHS BEFORE they announced the 4
So if he -KNEW- that a lack of OCS was a problem---he was DERELICT in his duties --by NOT TOUTING his SUPPORT for an OCS months and months ago
If in fact a lack of OCS was a factor ...and he didn't know after 5 years of preparing for the next round of expansion that it was/could be a problem----then again he was derelict --and not very bright
Either way--if a lack of an OCS was a factor---If he KNEW--or if he DIDN'T know---he looks bad and irresponsible
I am in the Martin camp---OCS just not necessary---especially one that would limit the amount of fans that could attend.

RE: Cut your losses and go get Freeze
My theory is that we're the B12's ugly side chick.
They talk to us regularly, but not in front of their friends and are noncommittal to any kind of relationship.
Invest in your OCS, yes that sounds great
Take care of your IARP case, yep after that we'll talk
Get fans in the stands and maintain the winning culture
Build that IPF
We'll talk after you transition to the new university president
The reality is, we aren't getting a phone call unless the B12 feels like other schools besides Texas and Oklahoma have one foot out the door. Then they'll possibly need us and we'll get that phone call. Otherwise they're just stringing us along just in case.
I hope I'm wrong, but that's how I see it.
