C-USA approaching AAC about reorganizing
https://www.si.com/college/2021/10/12/co...t-football

CUSA commissioner Judy MacLeod has officially drawn up a proposal to reorganize with the AAC and begin two new east and west-based leagues.

Memphis' conference in this proposal... 03-puke

Memphis
SMU
North Texas
Rice
UTEP
Southern Miss
Tulane
Tulsa
Louisiana Tech
Wichita State
UAB
UTSA

I don't see any way this actually goes through, as the AAC stands absolutely nothing to gain. IMO, CUSA would have a much better shot of this happening if they approached the Sun Belt.

The CUSA commissioner's call to Aresco will probably be really short.

She'll talk and ramble for a minute or two "blah, blah, regional rivalries.... blah, blah, travel expenses..." then he'll interject, "No, not interested. Don't call us and we won't call you - Goodbye."

Done.

He has to humor her. Might even agree to a meeting. Like the PAC did when the B12 came groveling to them about the same thing. The PAC sent the B12 home, then promptly organized a meeting with the ACC and B1G without the B12.

It could still happen if Mickey Mouse writes a big enough check.
