Would any of our QBs been good in the Michigan game?
Probably not. But as you just saw we do t have the defense to have a qb miss wide open td passes. If your goal is to go .500 in the Mac I’m okay leaving him in when he’s cold. But if you want to win every game you might need to pull Rocky when he’s not hitting 50% of his passes
I know many here want a championship every single year no matter how realistic that is.
I like to also consider what the coach is striving for. I think, with the high amount of freshmen on the team (and having Lombardi another year), Hammock is targeting next year as the year to win it all. Obviously, they are going to try to win this year but, from a coach's perspective, you don't lose sight of your target because of one game or a bad half.
If you're trying to develop something, you stick to it unless you get an obvious indication its not going to work.
Clearly, Lombardi was brought in to be his QB for two years. There's a psychology involved in coaching and he has to have a plan.
Plus, I think Lombardi's leadership really steadies this offense. I don't see benching him as a good idea. You want his calming influence out there, and you also want him to learn to work through these slumps, so that when the inevitable time comes where he is struggling and they REALLY need him, he knows from experience that he can turn it around in-game.
I agree 100%.
IMO, you don't want him looking over his shoulder.

You know what I always get a kick out of....Coaches who argue after a replay. The ref gets 20 looks in at it, slow motion, etc, etc, and then the coach still believes that he knows better from his single live look, which is usually not very good to begin with lol

Saw Trey on those fake Jet Sweeps. Why did we run a bunch of fake jet sweeps but never run the jet sweep? Just once?
Setting up an entire season of never giving it to the jet guy, so that in the MAC championship game, with the game on the line, they give it and the guy goes untouched to the house lol
