No Houston or Cincinnati in conference. Yeah FAU is coming off a final 4 and will be tough as long as they keep this coach.

Wichita State really needs to be good.

UaB does not move the needle for me.

@Missouri? Their AD must have some compromising photos of our AD - all I'm gonna say...

Hopefully the team plays well at the BFA and plays & beats a couple of good teams there.

Cincinnati is barely worth mentioning. They, along with UCF aren't big losses as standalone programs, only because their replacements might not be as good.

Yeah in bb UCF won't be missed. Cincy has an excellent history and we had a good rivalry with them. They will be missed.

None of the CUSA 6 brings much in bb, FAU will be good for a couple of years, they will lose their coach, at that will be the end of them.

Truth is we really really need to get into a better conference. We did enough to earn it imo but ......

You do realize that CUSA was ranked higher than the AAC in basketball last year.

yes, but the point is will those programs be able to sustain it? WSU is showing what happens.

Yep, NIL along with the yearly transfer rule carousel will make it tougher for non-power conference schools to find lightning in a bottle like FAU.

Exactly… and by judging FAU’s basketball facilities & history, what Dusty May accomplished last year was absolutely remarkable. FAU plays in a glorified HS gym.
UAB, Charlotte & UNT are the programs with the facilities & commitment to basketball; & our best hope at replacing UC & UH.

The same way that UAB and 6BC declined when they left for inferior conferences, they will get a bump when they move up. Recruiting should improve, and there will be a lot more money. If they get a full share after 3 years it is roughly 10X more money.

I hope we are not still hanging around the AAC to find out.
