But even if there wasn’t anything positive, sometimes just a statement even if it is filled with bad news, depending on how it’s delivered can help ease the anxiety people are feeling. Deliver the bad news, but end on a positive note with the direction going forward.

There’s no positive direction, because we all already know the general direction. Saying we are going to add the best collection of CUSA/Sun Belt schools doesn’t help. The schools that will now say yes at least for the short term suck. That’s all there is to it.

Who has officially said "no" to joining aside from Boise and SDSU?

The only announcement will be to say who has accepted and coming in. No conference ever addresses unofficial announcements of anyone turning anything down because officially no one has been invited

Yeah he failed. He swung for the fences and struck out. I like the other option better though, than simply just backfilling with CUSA and Sunbelt schools. Take UAB and go for the best other football school available, and go find one or two solid academic institutions that have good basketball programs. ….Yeah I know it’s not great, but my feeling is we need to start moving forward.
