I agree, I just don’t want it to be the AAC with Rice, UTSA, and FAU. We are fairly central in the current footprint and I would like to see schools added closer to us.

I understand the academic arguments but these seem like the obvious 4 AAC adds to me:

UAB
Marshall
App St
Louisiana

We would wipe the field with the MWC and basketball wouldn't be far behind in a few years.

I wonder if adding schools from the Sun Belt will even be an option for the AAC. Since ESPN already has long term contracts with the AAC and Sun Belt why would they pay more money for TV inventory they already own? That tells me additions will come from CUSA.

I don’t want to be in a basketball league with Rice, UTSA, current Charlotte, FAU, App state, or Louisiana.

Too easy to get a good hoops and football program from UAB, Marshall, La Tech, Liberty. Nobody else regionally offers both.

This isn’t hard.

...yep - BBALL will be a BIG winner of the move, even if Memphis bolts... I'd like to see the AAC also bring in at least one more 'bball only' team in addition to Wichita State, such as VCU, Dayton... as long as it is at least a TWO-bid conference, will be a BIG improvement... 04-rock

...hoping we get on the Eastern side of things, which might be more probable if they DO go for a few of the TX teams... but it may still be ultimately the same 'geographic / logistic' dilemma we have now, with us being the 'easternmost Western Division' team... I was sorta hoping for ASA and CSU, along with UTSA and us, so we would be a 'lock' for the Eastern side of things... but then again, would like some of the Eastern candidates mentioned for the move-up as well...

I know it’s a stretch but I really wish South Alabama would become competitive. Brand new stadium, Mobile-Pensacola is a large TV market, massively growing Baldwin County suburbs with transplants having no allegiance to Alabama-Auburn in the state. Imagine having an in-state G5 rival of similar stature to UAB in the same conference. That would be tons of fun. Could have sold out games. I get that we play them on occasion, but a 42-10 curb stomp a season after a 35-3 beat down isn’t super fun. And they didn’t travel like I expected them to, only 27k at that game at Legion. FCS Alabama State and A&M do better than that. And not to mention their basketball… As it stands now, I wouldn’t like to share a conference with them. But maybe in the next several years they take off.

If Judy is over CUSA, we have no choice but to leave...she is incapable of running an Arby's, let alone an entire conference

This is why the Queen City (Charlotte) was listed as a possibility.
