Splitting that BB money now 12 ways.
Lost the historic 10 team lean and mean advantage.
These 2 moves will put 4 more quality games on my team's schedule. I am good with that.
That's only guaranteed if the Valley goes to a 22 game schedule. If you do north-south divisions, then you're trading games with say Loyola and Bradley for games with Murray State and Belmont.
If the conference office tries to get creative with scheduling, like CUSA did a few years ago (scheduling late-season conference games midseason to boost NET and RPI), who knows
There are no divisions in basketball. The OVC was the last to have divisions and i think they recently scrapped them.

That guy has been the only media figure I've seen mention anything about Murray State to MVC and it's been crickets since.
When Matt Brown starts to tweet something I'll believe there's significant movement.

That’s what I figured. Really hoping it happens for Murray State.

With Missouri State officials hinting to go FBS? I think there is a hint there that Murray State is being blocked. It means a public school without football just lept ahead of Murray State, and there is a disagreement on who to add. Privates may want UTA, the publics want Murray State.

I tell you what - that’s a really good point. Missouri State is the MVC school that has been most openly in favor of Murray State. (I recall MSU’s president even Tweeting that Murray State should be added a few years ago.) However, if the MVC thinks that MSU is going up to FBS in the near future, then it might change the calculation of who they want to add.
That’s not a bad theory that the privates are more interested UTA if another public needs to be added. The privates are drawing from a wider and more national student applicant pool where traveling to the Dallas market in and of itself provides value, whereas the publics are generally drawing from their local populations and aren’t as concerned about a wider geographic footprint.
You and I might not be fired yet!

I continue to want Murray State. But David's point is interesting. I haven't been this interested in the Valley since the early 1970s when I was a kid.

And FWIW, I haven't heard much! Last I heard was pretty similar to the stuff you all are hearing...that there are schools that would love Murray, others that are concerned about football and about Murray's 'Market', (the concern being more about student and athlete recruitment than TV). Could those concerns be alleviated? Potentially! Does Murray to the Valley make sense? I personally think so! Is it about to happen? Not that I know of.
Of course, by typing this, that means something huge is gonna break while I'm traveling this weekend

Seriously, you could offer a 30% raise over what he makes in that position at CSNBBS.

Now that was one great basketball conference! Louisville, Memphis, Marquette, Cincinnati etc….plus Drake made it to 2 final 4’s and damn near beat UCLA and won the whole thing!

UMKC has to make it to the Major Leagues before they're on deck. The state of that program isn't in the Valley's stratosphere right now.

Marquette was never a member of the Valley. But, yes, UL, UC and UM were aligned in the MVC from 1968-70 — and I vaguely recall that. One of the most notable elements of conference realignment is the separation of those three schools.

I'll offer David a job as my wing man when I'm rocking in downtown Nashville chatting up the ladies on weekend nights. That cat could make things happen with his oddball approach and insane lists.

My bad. Was it St Louis? I’m missing a few schools I know....
