Realignment perspective
IMHO, we have a lot of fans who treat every game like it’s a playoff: win and the AAC likes, lose and they don’t. That’s not even the case in a normal timeframe and now that UT/OK came out of the chute it’s still not. Due diligence has been complete on most candidates even in recent years. I can guarantee that the last time Ingram chatted with Aresco wasn’t the first time they’ve spoken to each other and won’t be the last.
The AAC (Aresco) has said they want to move quickly. Awesome! But remember that they aren’t inviting just one school and they aren’t going to have 4 different press conferences to affirm invites. There is a LOT of horse-trading and moving pieces. We’re talking about at least 3 different conferences being involved in addition to the schools.
It might happen sooner than some think. But taking every game as an existential crisis is exhausting for everyone. We’ve made our case over the past few years (as I said, Ingram & Aresco probably know each other well at this point). Once the UT/OU bomb dropped, what happens on the field is too late to overturn or convince any of the decision makers.

Realignment perspective
I don't believe for a second that any of these decisions hinge on the outcome of a single game.
That said, winning is generally always more attractive than losing.

I mean, Ingram was one of the heads of Temple’s athletic department for several years. I’m sure they’re very familiar with each other

RE: Realignment perspective
All winning now does is help you win the press conference. I agree, either we are in or not by now and a win or loss won’t change that.

RE: Realignment perspective
I'm pretty sure nothing that occurs on the field will make a difference at this point. If that was the case I'm pretty sure Colorado State wouldn't even be a consideration.
