The field hockey team is off to a 6-2 start with wins over ranked JMU and now #11 UVA. The two losses also came against ranked teams (Delaware and UConn).

Things really changed a lot in the FH landscape. I still remember the days where its a three pronged battle between UMD, UNC and ODU. I didn't even know Delaware was good much less being ranked. Where are you Beth?

Delaware won the FH national championship in 2016. UNC has won it the last 3 years in a row.

Yeah surprised to see Delaware though. Looks like UNC is tied with us for the max no of titles won at 9.

Big East field hockey is a weird jumble of teams: ODU, Liberty, Quinnipiac and Temple joining all-sports UConn, Providence, Georgetown and Villanova

No idea why they bother ranking 25 teams when there’s only 79 D1 programs. Delaware is ranked and they’re 3-6.
