CCU beats ULM

App St being on the road, coming off Marshall high, against a really pissed of Ga St bunch? Yikes, I think GaSt is a bit Jekyll and Hyde, but their Jekyll is dang good. I’m going Jekyll for the (slight) upset win

Ark St just has too much for where GaSo is right now.

Troy… SC can’t run the ball. Troy bottled up a good run team in LU, gave up 3-4 yrds/carry vs ULM. Can the offense do enough? Gonna be close. Too bad it’s on the road. I’m gonna say SC by less than a TD, unless the Trojans wanna do their Californian namesake a solid, and beat down the fake USC.

Gimme South Alabama. USA is better than people believe. Go Jags.

Of course you are. Coastal fans can't help themselves. Twitter, reddit, here...everywhere?

Miami was pissed after getting beat down by Alabama and the talking heads dismissing them as well. I'm not sure how well that turned out? Obviously App lost but GSU isn't Miami, or Marshall.

App by 17.

I think Coastal will get their first reasonable game this season. Though Troy just played poorly. QB made bad decisions several times and I think that hurt more than anything.

We got ULM this week, not Troy.

AND, my picking GaSt (went out of way to point out its not a certainty) has zero to do with CCU fandom. What sense would that make? I want the best remaining opponent on our schedule to suffer another loss, all but assuring they won’t be ranked the remainder of the season? Sure would help Coastal a bunch. Lol. No thanks, I’d rather you roll everyone, so we can enjoy beating you even more. AND get something for it. You’re smart enough to know that. But you let your black and gold sunglasses prevent you from seeing not everyone is consumed with antagonizing you.

No, I just think there’s a shot it happens, and am willing to call it. What do I lose if I’m wrong?

I was saying that Troy played poorly at ULM. So the game had more to do with how poorly Troy played than how well ULM played, in my opinion.

You picking App to lose would make more sense if you put money on it. Otherwise it just looks like you're trolling. I'd bet that if you had to wager $100 it wouldn't be on Georgia State in this game.

If you watched the Auburn game, UNC game, and Army games, like I did, you would know what Auburn's problem was here. They obviously did not prepare for GSU. They didn't fit run gaps, their eyes were in the wrong places, and Bo Nix is gonna Bo Nix. It almost looked like Auburn did not watch ANY film at all on what GSU likes to do this week and if they did, they certainly didn't internalize any of it to the point where it came out on game day.

That's why they say "any given Saturday (or Sunday)". Could GSU win this game? Certainly. App State could make the same mistake as Auburn and overlook GSU and come out unprepared. Then you mention Marshall losing to MTSU when you clearly haven't watched MTSU or Marshall. Keep in mind Marshall was averaging 607 yards per game before the App game and only managed 397 in the game against App, while giving up almost 550 yards.

App played poorly last year because of COVID restrictions. Split practices, zoom meetings instead of in person meetings, and Tony Peterson trying to coach an offense that wasn't his to a split group of guys at different times with a month in season where App didn't play. You see the same theme come up against Louisiana as well where App threw the ball 6 or 8 times in the first half, despite being unable to run the ball. Go watch Illinois this year and you see the same themes cropping up.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion but when you issue such a prediction where your only information to back it up is "well, they played Auburn close, and if they do that then they can beat App", it comes across as trolling. For your record, Auburn's wins have been against AKRON, ALABAMA STATE, and GEORGIA STATE. They managed to become ranked by beating those three teams. It's almost as bad as The Citadel, Kansas, Buffalo, and UMass. The two middle teams having new coaching staffs who didn't arrive until May and UMass who didn't play football in 2020.

Anyway.

I think you’re confusing me with someone else.

I didn’t say a single word about MTSU/Marshall, which I’d guess you’re pointing out as a slight to App St (implied Marshall weakness = lesser win). Wasn’t me. I think very highly of Marshall, was a great game and great win for y’all.

I also didn’t go into any detail on GaSt/Auburn. Zero. I only said GaSt seems bipolar, this last season and a half, anyway. They can play very well. They can play very poorly. Since, YOU mention it, it’s still impressive to beat Auburn (even if they didn’t prep well, QB had off day, etc). Wins versus middle of the pack P5 conferences don’t just fall into one’s lap when the P5 plays poorly, otherwise Miami would be singing even worse blues, right?

Anyway, no I don’t have a bet. If I did, I have no problem matching it with my prediction. I thought that’s what this post was about, stating predictions, but then I forgot all you Apps/Cajuns just always think it’s about you…
Haven’t bothered to check spread, moneyline, whatever. I’ll just stick to what I said, independent of all the other baloney you attributed to me, that I think GaSt plays like the better GaSt this week (in part being angry about being “cheated” last week), and is at home (which to your bet point is an advantage), and they win. Feel free to point out I was wrong if/when it happens. It’s a prediction thread…
