How is UAB putting investments where it matters? That stadium is paid for by the city of Birmingham; UAB will pay rental fees for using it.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I don’t think the Liberty Bowl was or is owned by the university. How is it different than UAB?

It's not other than being older. Same bad idea.

It’s definitely in the plans along with new baseball and softball fields finally. We’re putting all our marbles in football first. Just opened the new RACE facility. Go take a look. It’s pretty legit!

Just a thought, you could just Google it. But you're not serious about actually knowing the difference so there's that.

Do you understand what the term “Guest” means. You’ve been nothing but an ******* to everyone on here and now you are going after one of most veteran poster.

You don’t have to be a dick here. Honestly the board is really over you consistent attitude and in general rude behavior.

Go look at the rules, check out what a “Guest” can and cannot do. Stop being a dick.

25 million for new baseball and softball facilities.
25 million for a née Basketball and Volleyball practice facility
7 million to expand our new track and soccer complex
7 million to cover our football practice field

All should break ground in next 5 years.

Never been to cinci so I can't comment on that one.

As far as the rest, I'd probably but bham almost smack in the middle for places I'd like to go to a game.

That's why Conference USA nicknames UTSA the "Meep Meeps!"

I was too, but keep in mind, 31,200 is half full at the Liberty Bowl. I heard an estimate of 34,000. I'll find out and get back.

I think UTSA could be a good add, but they're at their apex this year. They're loaded with seniors and as another person put it, they're good enough this year to hang with the top G5's and some of the P5's. I don't know if that means that they'll be good next year and beyond. It's hard to say.

I'd give the edge to UAB.

This is the kind of season that UTSA will hope turns up their recruiting a notch and hopefully sustain this season’s high.

Adding UTSA would keep the AAC in a Sea World market—keeping Shamoo in the conference is critical.

Smfh. The stadium is NOT paid for or owned by the City of Bham. They are one of several funding sources including $40 million from UAB. We are the sole and primary tenant. In big letters on the pressbox: "Home of the Blazers". Unlike Pitt and USF, we're not sharing Protective with another team.

Protective Stadium would not exist if not for UAB football. Fact.

FIFY. See, I can be nice when it is warranted. Your most veteran poster has forever had something negative to say about Birmingham. So if me asking if he is bitter constitutes an AUP violation then so be it. It's ironic you are calling me a "d**k", which by the way is a blatant AUP violation, guest or not when shere khan has acted like one or more than a thousand occasions. I'm also pretty sure he can fend for himself and probably thought nothing of what I said because that's what he does.

You seem to be a bit sensitive today which is understandable after watching your team lose again and UAB beat Tulane. May I suggest taking a break away from the message board and spending some quality alone time with a good novel. The board will be here when you get back.

UAB and UTSA
Have to believe that if Rice wants in and says to the AAC "we are willing to do x, y and z" it's not even remotely close between them and UTSA.

If they wanted it they'd probably be an even better candidate than UAB. They could be the Texas version of Stanford with all their resources but their track record says elevating their athletic profile isn't a big priority for them.
