If the tickets were in high demand due to a packed stadium and electric atmosphere, I think they’d have considerable more value. You don’t get that with 20,000 empty seats.

Tickets were in high demand for Mississippi State and we had people complaining about it. That argument doesn’t wash.

Those ticket prices for MS State where ridiculous. That being said it was a very entertaining game.

This weekend’s Ole Miss v Arkansas game starts at $75 per ticket.

And if we get in a P5 , expect ticket prices to be that high

I would never expect prices to be that high. They are half that for a good chunk of the Big 12 and ACC.

But a LOT more that are 50K and above.

That is true. Our 5-year average attendance according to College Football News was 37228.8 (#59). Would playing better competition bump up the average enough to justify a 55k+ stadium as mentioned in the OP? In the CFN article only 37 teams averaged around 55k and higher. There was a 4k gap between 38 and 37.

I believe if we are bringing in TCU, Texas Tech, Baylor, OK State, Iowa State, Kansas and Kansas State for conf game the attendance is going to go up. Give it five years for new rivalries and we could see 45-50K per game. That's just above average for the Big XII when you remove OK and TX

We see it the same I believe. I have said if we had a new stadium I would like to see it start at 45k and designed to expand to 50k. I hope we are looking at it from the perspective of who we could end up playing, and not who we have been. Unfortunately it's sounding like the latter.
